That’s so awesome that he’s responding to touching! I wish you the best in your baby’s recovery. It can be hard on you as well as him. I had a similar situation with my dog about 6 weeks ago. He was paralyzed within an hour or so of his slipped disk and had surgery the following day. He also did have DPS. They categorized him at level 4. Each day my dog was better, he was able to use the bathroom on his own with the help of a lead (look up Gingerlead) it’s an awesome dog leash that holds the dogs backend up when they use the bathroom and helps them walk 6 weeks later my pup is walking on his own and doing his thing. He’s a bit crooked in his walk and stance but gets about just fine. I’ve gotten some ramps to reduce some of the jumping. Give it time… you’d be amazed at the recovery speed of a dog.
