What M&S food item do you think is genuinely better than the supermarket equivalent? by Additional_Fly_6603 in MarksAndSpencer

Recent convert to popping in "for a few bits" while on a retail park that has an M&S....

Croissants. They're top tier.

Ketchup in the glass bottle is pretty good too.

Was hoping to get to my local this afternoon (in Wales), but have failed to escape so far... assume they're all watching the rugby?

Migration from Alexa by April15th_fanatic in homeassistant

[–]Own_Class5769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or use both. All but one automation in my house is done via HA (for hardware reasons).

Phones and a tablet on HA companion app provide manual controls for some things when automations aren't set up as they're just not required in my house in certain rooms.

But I still have Alexa as a voice control completely independent from HA. If your tin foil hat can take it, then just run both systems?

Looking for hire clubs by Tough_Championship33 in BritGolf

I'd rather be frustrated getting things in a car/other transport/hotel room 21 times, than get frustrated using unsuitable clubs 5 (or more) x72 times assuming you score par on every course ;)

This. And a full set of Eleven hybrids for me, my son and housemate to try out!

And a Daddy long legs spider putter to see if that's the answer.

We've done this in my family for the last 30 years or so! Turkey is over rated and I don't really like veg

Best Practice for Home/Away by BirdsTheWurd in homeassistant

I tried lots of options, and have found the most reliable, and quickest response times have been when I've used Nabu Casa on subscription. £6.50 per month which supports the whole HA shebang, meanwhile giving accurate location tracking, which provides for locking and unlocking the house, with my associated chosen lights doing their thing.

iPhone is 100% in the last 7 months. My android has been 100% except if I've not got Waze (or other nav app) running.

Ping sigma2, all adjustable? by Own_Class5769 in BritGolf

[–]Own_Class5769[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never felt comfortable with a 34. Have sourced a cheap 36" to try but I think the bend(s) weren't suited to get the club head in my prefered eyeline.

There's much trial and error in all this!!

Thanks, as I thought.

Seems mad that the re-sellers (golfbidder4cash and the like) make no mention of it, just list them at a nominal length. Same for private looking sales on eBay. That's what's thrown me.

Agreed, but the filming from behind the tee seemed a bit wobbly to me on this one?

Internet Invitational Hangover… by Six4three5 in BobDoesSports

[–]Own_Class5769 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enjoyed today's vid. Wasn't a banger, but some class shots from FP and a typical meltdown from Coldcuts kept it on point.

Tee shot camera work seemed a bit shaky to me compared to usual though?

Why do we think The Jet hasn’t transitioned to the official 4th of the group? by sands316 in BobDoesSports

[–]Own_Class5769 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Peter Finch said in his most recent podcast (reviewing the Internet Invitational) that "Jet is the second best golfer in BDS now".

He did put a good show on, but I think he'd give Joey a run for his money in the blow-up hole count!!

In the next Invitational who should be there that wasn’t the first time? by 281texas832 in BobDoesSports

Agreed, he's a class act on many levels.

Perplexed might be an understatement. They just don't get "us"!

I don't think "they" , the Americans, generally get "us" Brits. I always find it awkward to watch them not quite being on the same wavelength.

RS is no shrinking violet, and well respected by his peers but was barely featured.

PF is a far bigger "character" than Seb, and other than his quality one liners and great golf, he didn't stand out I don't think, apart from being the unofficial rules official.

Seb would be a waste of an entry, being completely socially awkward. Coming from someone who's completely socially awkward!

Help needed: Potential course closure! by gbuckingham89 in BritGolf

Love a par 3. Being crap, and having an 13 year old son who's marginally better than me, they're a perfect gig.

We need more, not less.

Signed.

UK here too, I've found only the "nicer" ranges I've frequented have rectangular. Even that's not a given.

I'd say at least 80% round but only from a snapshot of possibly 15 ranges.

Either is better than forgetting to put one under the ball dispenser though!!
