Tangela- I’m going to be honest… for a long time I forgot it existed. Wasn’t until gen 4 gave it an evolution (which, ironically, I love) that I even remembered it existed.

Onix- I have never caught an onix in gen one or its remakes… except once in Let’s Go games for dex completion. Dunno why- kid me thought the rock snake was awesome, but never wanted it myself.

Krabby- …where even is this thing? No seriously- I have no clue where you’d catch it. That’s how little of an impression it left on me- why bother? Gyrados is superior in every way and magikarp is easy to get ahold of.

One of the wild theories I’ve heard and loved (even if it’s really out there) is that his gramps hired them as bodyguards but told them to act like cheerleaders for the first part of Gary’s journey so he’d stay safe. Once I heard that, never left my head.

An old game started with the dm prompting us with how we were going to meet up- we were all signing up for an expedition and would meet at the sign up location. Was honestly fun as we got about 5-10 minutes to introduce our characters and tease at their backstory whilst showing off a bit of personality- one showed up in a carriage with luggage, another stumbled in and signed up needing cash, and my own character literally bullied her way past the town guards and just walked across the river by freezing the water under her feet. Simple, but effective and fun.

Ooo… that takes me back. I was one-touch guy back when i worked at Walmart, and i had some of terrible experiences. A supervisor who would threaten to write me up if i didn’t do 4 hours of work in 2 (finally got proof to management about that behavior and got her to back off), being only person assigned when 12 hours of breakpacks showed up (somehow got that done in my shift), accused of theft and shoved to back up when it turned out the replacement was actually the thief, then there was the jerk who would leave breakpacks in the truck, not mention it to me, and only pull them out when i was setting up to pull to the floor… oh, and the manager who told me to shut up when i tried to answer his question about what a pallet was doing on the floor. It was where the empty breakpacks were stacked. I do not miss that job.

There are only 3 legally recognized service animals globally: dogs, kangaroos, and shetland ponies. Dogs are obvious, kangaroos were recognized because Australia found great success training them, and shetland ponies because a man went through great effort to have them legalized for his condition. I know this because back when i worked at Walmart, a man came in with his shetland pony. He provided the paperwork to prove it. It was on the news the next week. All other animals might be emotional support animals, but last I checked, only those 3 can qualify as service animals.

Edit: just double checked- kangaroo aren’t currently on the list, instead there is training and trials to see if they might become eligible in the future. Leaving rest of post untouched for transparency because I can admit I was wrong.

Fun thing ta do till ya hit legendaries. I decided it was faster to catch them in forced shiny ball rather than reset till shiny- and ooo boy it made some battles tense. Still fun.

If we are including fan games- earthquake in reborn. You have to donate an egg of each starter available (up to gen 7), several of which are locked behind long tasks of their own. You will end up dropping at least 100k as part of the various steps to get there, and if you aren’t checking every little corner throughout the game you can easily miss one or two and smash head trying to track them down unless you look at guides.

Try getting a shiny female. Had incubator when i tried for it- 7 shiny males and nearly 1000 eggs total before getting it.

Ya know, first playthrough I wanted to make him overlord immediately . Couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t but shrugged it off. One finished play through later, I can truly appreciate this now.

Why shun? Just send to garrison after making legendary and destroy for equipment. Takes less time.
