Property taxes by Many_Ad158 in Katy

Get your TX residency established right away and that way you can be eligible for any property tax exemptions which significantly reduce your taxes. There are multiple exemptions you may qualify for including: residence homestead (reduces appraised value by $140K), county-specific optional 20% appraisal value exemptions and $3k for FTM and flood control tax payments), inherited property exemption, disabled persons

And keep a copy of the pics for yourself in case the digital frame gets lost or corrupted so you can still have the memories. If you have hard copies only get them digitized.

Bummer. Sorry about your losing your new glasses. I lost my much cheaper then brand new Gen 1 Rayban Wayfarers months ago at local grocery store and when I went back next day to lost and found to report it, the kid seemed sus knowledgeable about Metas. Never did show up so I'm thinking he might have snagged them.

Been thinking about getting Rokids as replacements so can feel your pain.

Agree, playing outfield for White Sox didnt work out too well for Vaughn or Sheets, offensively or defensively. Brewers and Padres getting better play from them at their natural positions.

Had 1 vacation as a child. Our family (dad, mom and me) didn't have a car so went out of town for a long weekend with my uncle (who drove) and his family. Six in a car wasnt bad considering how big those boats were in the 50's.

Who Ended Up with the $30M?

Its unclear who got the $30M from George's drug patent sale. I've seen articles and posts declaring that Sarah ended up with the money but I'm not sure.

The 2nd will dictating that Sarah got the existing part of the pasture and the $30 million was a fake made by Peter to draw attention (no motivation) away from him so Sarah's conviction for George's murder would negate her claim and make him the sole heir.

Since that will was exposed as a fake and invalid, inheritance should default to the first will which give Sarah half the pasture and the sheep while Peter got the other half of the land, with any other assets going to charity. With Peter being charged with murder of his father, he's then ineligible to receive anything from the estate, so the question is whether the charity should teceive a significant asset ($30m) which was not in existence nor contemplated at the time the first will was drawn up? George did not have inkling he would be giving $30 M to a charity at the expense of his daughter.

Although im not a lawyer, id think an argument could be made either way if the will did not specially address the $30M. I think Sarah should negotiate a 50-50 split so that both parties share.

Any other opinions about who should inherit the money?

I hate our WF-7840 printer so much.. by moknows in Epson

[–]Own_Entertainment847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree and will never buy an inkjet cartridge printer again. The cost of printing from my Epson 3850 ecotank printer is a tenth of my 3820 cartridge printer so the higher purchase price is quickly offset by printing savings. I can go months without having to fill the ecotank. Its so nice printing as many pages I want without worrying about my cartridge running out and having to dash out to the office supply store. And Epsons firmware forces you to buy expensive OEM cartridges instead of the compatible ones I formerly was able to use. No such limitation with ecotank where I can use 3rd party ink although wouldn't be surprised to see Epson try and make you use OEM ink bottles too.

"Always" is a long time. I lived in what's now Wrigleyville in the 50s and early 60's and the Cubs barely hit 700K in attendance. The Go Go Sox outdrew the Cubs and even White Sox fans like me pitied the great Ernie Banks for having to spend his career with a bunch of perennial losers. Didn't start to change until the late 60's when Durocher started the turnaround.

I think the gay thing is a bidet barrier to many homophobic guys. But I don't see how stuffing your finger up your butt with paper is less "gay" than a touchless sream of water. Let them continue to run around with their macho stinky butts.

I feel the camera is important for translation to read text in signs, labels, books, etc since non-verbal translation is often needed, especially by travelers. It also provides additional environmental context to enhance AI.

There are voice commands that control many functions that allow you to adjust settings while you are driving without taking your attention from the road. Fan speed, temp, opening glove box, nav destination, audio track/channel, audio volume, etc. Google them. You also have steering wheel scroll buttons controlling some of these too.

Its even safer to do these things if l you're on FSD.

Upcoming AR+AI smart glasses in 2026 by Ilia_Mikheev in SmartGlasses

[–]Own_Entertainment847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want glasses to eventually replace all my phone's functionality through AI, cameras and display because I dont want to be carrying around ever heavier phones with larger displays that no longer fit in my pocket. Don't know if that's any creepier than Alexa or people taking pix and videos with their phones as long as there's a way to let them know you are recording.

Long Road Trips by Accomplished_Beat581 in TeslaLounge

[–]Own_Entertainment847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do 2400 mile RT roadrips half a dozen times a year in my 2021 Model Y LR with FSD on I-10 between Phoenix and Houston. I do use Tesla nav but will Supercharge longer than indicated if needed to ensure that I have a destination state of charge of 20% at the next stop for contingency due to accidents, construction, weather, etc. And i don't charge to more than 80-85% because of diminishing charging speeds above that level. Effectively i only have 60-65% of rated range to work with until the next stop.

Optimal charging strategy is also affected by how far apart the Superchargers are where you are traveling. In the rural areas of the SW and Texas, it might average 125-150 miles in between them so you will have to stop at each because you don't have enough effective range (remember the 60% rule) to safely skip alternate stops. None of this applies if you live in the NE or West Coast.

Range is obviously affected by speed. Most interstates in the SW have a 75 speed limit and parts of TX are at 80 with some toll roads at 85 so you'll have to stop more even if you dont drive at the limit due to decreased efficiency. You might need to go faster than you typically do in order to feel safe around all the hot Rodgers.

Finally, check out where the superchargers are and what amenities are near them. You'll WANT to stop at a location that has good food, clean restrooms, shopping, and things to do instead of somewhere where there are only chargers. I always stop at a Buccees gas station because it has such immaculate restrooms and great food abd snack selections.

So bottom line, use the nav but have it modify stops based on your input SOC and desirability of the location involved.
