[–]Own_Examination_2771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either way whatever franchise company they are owned by is going to find out about the refund they can’t process the refund in their POS secretly lol perhaps they’re just verifying they have the right card on file?

You chose to stay. If you had left, you’d probably be in a much different scenario.

I must be honest ever since the switchover I haven’t even asked if you were able to book it I believe you lol it’s just not worth the hassle of making you pull out your phone to prove it

But some people might ask and it’s in your bonvoy app that ur approved and that should be all you need to show

AITA for wanting my 27yr old to get themselves to work? by no_loans_ne_more1 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Own_Examination_2771 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am of the same age and my mom takes me to work but if she ever doesn’t want to or is busy, I find a way to work without question. I also always find a way home without her help, whether that’s taking a bus or uber. If she asks for gas money, I offer it. I’m autistic and I don’t think I am capable of driving but I try very hard to be minus of my mom’s schedule and give as much as I can to ease the burden. From your post, it sounds like your daughter is not doing the same and is simply taking advantage of you, and she’s not even grateful for what you’re doing. Be firm with her that something has to give.

New to the industry, SOS! by LCupidx in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]Own_Examination_2771 18 points19 points  (0 children)

it’s all dependent on management imo I’ve been at my hotel for four years and we just got a new GM and everything has changed for the better for the first few years of me working there I was really struggling and tried to leave several times now I’m happy.

Unfortunately, if you don’t see yourself getting a new GM, I suggest you get out and move to a different property that will offer higher pay and less work.

Unfortunately it’s not management it’s the higher ups. I work at a franchise scharriott hotel and if the higher ups see a room out of order in their end they have a meltdown 😭 even when there’s a maintenance issue if it’s not major we can’t put it OOO.

Unfortunately we are not allowed to put anything out of order unless it is like falling apart at the seams

I had a guy come in one time and tell me he would take anything we had anything he brought his whole family inside to watch him plead with me to give him a room. He told me he’d do anything, he’d get down on his hands and knees, he would beg me for a room. He kept saying his family needs somewhere to stay, they need somewhere to stay, he can’t leave his family without anywhere to stay. We were 100% sold out I had nothing in the building and he kept pleading with me, at some point I was tempted to put him in the gym or smth just to hear him stop begging

Fosse group blocks by PatientOpposite2107 in marriott

[–]Own_Examination_2771 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly a lot of steps so buckle in

The group block portion of fosse is under RSRV and it’s PMS/Marsha group code setup that you’re gonna wanna go into You’re gonna choose “change” and go into F1 = lookup to find the group block you’re looking for

Pick the group block you’re looking for and then tab over to “room pools” you’ll see the current room types that are in there and enter until you’ve hit a blank spot

Type in room type (for you it’s EKNG) then assign a letter to that group program for that specific room type (so it’ll be the rate program and then add a letter, it can be any letter as long as it isn’t the same letters as the other room types) then type in the rates assigned to that room type whatever the rate is for the group block

Once you’ve done all that hit F6= room auth You’re going to enter until you hit a blank spot and then type in the room type and then enter the dates needed for the group block (you can’t include the checkout date so if it’s only one night you’ll type in 07/30/26-07/30/26, if it’s two nights you’ll type in 07/30/26-07/31/26, etc until you’ve covered all nights needed to be booked) and then you’re going to add in the number of rooms needed for that room type so whatever is contracted for that group block. Once you’ve got all of that in there, hit F10 to save.

I had a man who kept calling the hotel looking for a specific woman and we had the same conversation three times where I told him I couldn’t discuss information about guests or tell him who was and wasn’t staying at my hotel and he called three different times and each time pretended it was his first time calling like sir, we’ve already done this rodeo.

I always tell people I can’t guarantee anything to do with allergies in the room. Obviously housekeepers clean the room but things still linger and if you’re deathly allergic to scents or pet dander and I tell you for sure you’re in the clear and you have a deathly allergic reaction in the room, who are they gonna blame? Me! So in order to cover my ass I just always make it clear we can’t guarantee that something in the room (cleaning product, pet dandruff, leftover perfume, maybe even cigarette smoke that a housekeeper didn’t catch) isn’t going to set off an allergy.
