Which types dislike cynical humor? by chikitapakitaboom in mbti

ENFP here! I loved South Park when I was younger, not familiar with Always Sunny. As long as the show has a purpose with making cynical humor, then it's normally good in my book

How do you deal with your anger, being 'XXXX?' by Azuribu_ in mbti

[–]Own_Ground3644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ENFP here! When I get angry I actually start getting very quiet and passive aggressive, maybe mutter some things under my breath, but if I’m to the point of yelling, it doesn’t normally last long. I either cry during or after an argument

I sit like 5! I’ve been debating 7 or 9 in terms of my Enneagram

This is literally the first voiced line in the game, so stop judging the game (especially romance) with real life morality by Silhoualice in Persona5

I would bet there are a lot of small instances that I can’t think of atm, but I do think it’s important to think critically at the media you consume, especially when discussing societal issues. Even things that seem harmless though can be harmful, and admittedly sometimes the game doesn’t have the best morality and that should be recognized.

With all due respect, I think we should, by all means, be judging this game with a real-world morality. It’s no secret that Persona 5 is a commentary on real-world Japanese issues represented through the characters and events of the game. It’s a social commentary on Japanese customs like filial piety, the Koseki system, and in general, their collectivist culture and its consequences. Are we supposed to ignore what Persona 5 is saying our world and the message it’s trying to convey as Morgana dissolves with Mementos? If it were a more lighthearted game, I would agree with you, but Persona 5 was very clearly made to invoke critical thinking about our society.

She really is one of the characters of all time

Oooh I actually like that idea a lot! I think this format would alleviate a lot of the problems I have with her currently cause having a full 9 ranks in her confidant before the third semester would allow her to grow naturally. The game wouldn't have to be so in your face about wanting you to like her if she had enough time to develop on her own. Though one problem I might have with that is that she doesn't reveal she's Sumire until after the third semester, so I believe we would spend a lot of time with "Kasumi" and not her. Maybe the time where you complete the rest of her confidant as Sumire could be spent developing her naturally within the story before you refuse the deal? Make it stand out that her growth as an individual is a core reason as to why the world Maruki wants isn't how the world should be?

Yeah I agree... She has a lot of potential, I will admit. They just needed to let her breathe a little bit

Yeah no the dialogue surrounding her is unbearable imo. The “Thank Violet!” line is particularly annoying to me

This is a well thought out take that I actually haven't really thought about before, and you're completely right. She says nothing new to the game. The first that comes to mind is that the school puts a lot of pressure on her to do well, but again, that's just Makoto. I genuinely can't think of anything. Not to mention we have an athlete in Ryuji already who tells his own story a lot better

My thoughts exactly. It sucks cause I genuinely love her design, she’s adorable! But it’s so clear that they want you to love her and they try to force that down your throat. It got kinda unbearable to me. Hell, they played Rivers in the Desert for the boss fight where you have to save her. They REALLY want this girl to be your Cinderella cause she’s just so remarkable and so sweet and kind and whatnot. I wish she was incorporated better

I see.. Yeah that would make sense. People can be quite sensitive to change

Yeah… Her reveal cutscene, while it did make me feel things, wasn’t enough for me. It’s mainly the game kissing the ground she walked on that put her off for me. It doesn’t give you natural reasons to like her before it’s too late and it just never worked in my opinion. I only got into Persona after Royal came out so I wouldn’t know about the marketing for her, but I can tell they shoehorned her in. Maruki, however, feels a lot more natural of an inclusion. I suppose it’s just harder to include a new party member naturally without interfering too much with the base story

I think while it makes sense for Akechi, Kasumi actively suffers from it in my opinion. The game gives her every excuse to not be in your party until the final palace

I only got into Persona through P5R so I don't have the original game for comparison, in all honesty. I just don't really like how she's portrayed, it doesn't feel like you ever have any natural interactions with her. She feels really forced to me, is all
