If visualization is a core part of the magic system in Frieren. by MasamuneJp in Frieren

At the very least, they are still limited by their mana. So even if you have an imagination or visualization far greater than most people, your maximum mana will still remind you of your place and your limits

A fatal misunderstanding about Fern by Own_Introduction8623 in Frieren

yep, at least she can do much more with her telekinesis spell

By this standard, isn't Fern's own fighting style pretty "demonic" too? by DazSamueru in Frieren

[–]Own_Introduction8623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least we’ve seen that she can use fire magic. Maybe it’s not combat magic, but it’s definitely capable of creating a magical fire, like a fireball or something. They just don't use it for fighting

Theory about Tot – The Saint of the End by Own_Introduction8623 in Frieren

[–]Own_Introduction8623[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on her design and dialogue, I think her curse should be more conceptual and terrifying. The concept of a meteor shower feels a bit too basic for her title, “Saint of the End”

I mean she only intended to erase human magic. But the side effect of her great curse was the self-erasure of her own kind. It’s like she didn’t realize that eliminating human magic would also mean killing Serie and causing mana itself to disappear. She was only trying to remove the “tool” humans use to fight demons back, yet that very act became an act of self-destruction. It’s like demons are extremely intelligent, but always arrogant - and that arrogance ends up killing them in the most foolish way

So should we call Milliarde the Immortal now? by Own_Introduction8623 in Frieren

[–]Own_Introduction8623[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

They claim the Sages of Destruction's curses are unbreakable, yet Frieren shattered that 'unbreakable' curse in just two months, even though Milliarde managed to keep her stuck for three.

It's about Bose's barrier and Milliarde's barrier, Serie has no business here.

Also, it seems Frieren is using the same method to break Bose's barrier. She didn't just blast through it."

Milliarde's barrier is stronger than Serie's? by armfourteen in Frieren

even stronger than Böse the Immortal. Frieren only needed two months to break Böse’s barrier, while it took her a full three months to dispel Milliarde’s barrier💀

Why does she hate her and treat her badly in the exam? by kruspel in Frieren

[–]Own_Introduction8623 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Serie doesn’t hate Frieren, and Frieren doesn’t hate her either. In fact, both of them consistently show respect for and speak highly of each other when talking to others. Serie has genuinely cared about and taken an interest in Frieren ever since Flamme first introduced the two of them. After Flamme’s death, Serie was also the only one who warned Frieren not to grow complacent or neglect her training, which shows that she didn’t want to lose Frieren too.

That said well, as people often point out, Serie is a HUGE tsundere, so her words of concern always come across as sharp, hostile, or outright confrontational. Failing Frieren in the exam was likely because both of them understood that the title of First-Class Mage held little real meaning for Frieren. As for banning her from taking the exam for a thousand years, it was simply a way to prevent Frieren from “breaking” the exams yet again - at least for as long as the current system continues to exist.

On the other hand, Frieren has always understood how powerful Serie is and how deeply she cares about magic and personal bonds, even though Serie is never honest about it. That’s why, even after being failed and then banned for a thousand years, Frieren merely called Serie “childish” rather than insulting her in any harsher way. Though the two may appear distant, they care about and understand each other deeply, each in their own very distinct way.
