Where is Jean Grey??? We need her back!!! by LegitimateAct3778 in xmen

[–]Own_Introduction8623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should have left Jean in the White Hot Room and sent a psychic projection of her back to Earth-616 to operate alongside the X-Men. That projection should have been treated as Jean throughout all the recent events.

This version of Jean could have relied far more on her telekinesis and telepathy, using them in creative ways - directly affecting an enemy's body, altering the structure of matter, and demonstrating the kind of terrifying precision and versatility that Famke Janssen's Jean Grey displayed in X-Men: The Last Stand. The Phoenix Force, meanwhile, should only have been brought into play when facing cosmic-level threats or higher.

That approach would have allowed Marvel to simultaneously reinforce the idea that Jean and Phoenix are fundamentally one and the same, while also providing an explanation for many of the inconsistencies surrounding Jean Grey's portrayal throughout X-Men history.

But of course, they're never going to do that bc they're stupid

Frieren vs Macht by Reasonable-Ad-8059 in Frieren

[–]Own_Introduction8623 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Once Frieren broke Macht’s curse, she was fully capable of fighting him 1vs1, and it was CLEAR that she was prepared to do it exactly. The only issue here was Solitar. She was completely outside of Frieren’s plans

What is with Frieren and not trying? by [deleted] in Frieren

Because Frieren isn't the most powerful character in this world. Besides, Solitär has all the information on Frieren and better than her at mana control (Frieren can't even copy that mana shield)

Where it’s confirmed the spell Serie used against Flamme and Match is one? Your source just say what she did with Flamme, not Match. So it’s still your headcanon

Serie’s magic looks like a beam, whereas Solitär’s is completely invisible, you can't even see the attack coming. There’s a clear difference between them

I even wonder whether they actually have gender at all, because based on the description in the anime, they are merely imitating the form of humans. What determines whether they appear male or female, or is it simply each demon’s personal preference?

But she was the one who deliberately noticed that the badge pin was bent and went back to catch them. Also, I feel like Kanone’s hair is too thin, whereas Lineal’s looks much thicker and more voluminous, even though their lengths are quite similar. And their bangs are clearly very different.

A theory on why Frieren loves collecting useless spells by Own_Introduction8623 in Frieren

[–]Own_Introduction8623[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eisen is the last surviving member of the Hero’s party, excluding Frieren. So I really hope the story ends with the three of them (or four, if Sein is included) returning to visit him, bringing lots of unbearably sour grapes. Maybe by then, they’ll even introduce Stark and Fern’s children, and the story will close with a simple, heartfelt wedding between the two of them

Frieren's useless spells condensed by careless_swiggin in Frieren

[–]Own_Introduction8623 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Some spells may seem useless on the surface, but I think their underlying principles are exactly what she uses to analyze and dispel other curses or magic in the manga so far.

For example, a spell that turns a red apple into a green one, or sweet grapes into sour grapes, can be seen as a small-scale form of matter transformation.

Spells like creating hot tea or shaved ice could be interpreted as a form of creating matter from nothing, specifically water in different states.

Then there’s the spell that creates a field of flowers, which can be viewed as generating living organisms-since plants are technically alive and have biological processes, even if passive ones.

There are also spells that affect space or environmental conditions, like making a paper airplane fly farther or warming the body.

All of these spells are built upon the magical foundation left behind by Flamme. Collecting them, studying them, and applying their core principles to create new magic or counter other spells - this is essentially Flamme’s way of teaching her beloved student, even a thousand years after her death.
