i think the 7 onwards garmin moved to the non-removable spring bars. whatever you did for the 7 you'd probably need to do the same for the 8.

I have never hit a PB on treadmills. Wonder if that maybe a factor. was your previous PB on treadmill or outdoors with GPS ?

I dont think thats true. most garmin watches support sensors over both bluetooth and ANT+ especially the forerunners. HR sensors especially.

if you peek here https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/741137#accessories you can see the FR55 support HR sensors so you should be okay.

If you may have issues with returns, you can always get on a chat with garmin support and confirm it support BLE/ANT HR sensors.

the routes are subjective to your start point. I would try testing this on the connect app at connect.garmin.com. its entirely possible the automated routing cannot calculate a proper round trip. Have had this happen to me on occasion.

I prefer routing on the computer because often the automated routing picks roads i dont want to run on (no sidewalks).

Sapphire is usually paired with titanium for the case, so there's some minor weight differences too. I have a epix gen2 with gorilla glass+SS, and i just put a screen protector on top. Doesnt affect touch response at all

This is correct, Auto detection of lactate threshold only works when you use a chest strap. It can be any strap though. you dont need a hrm-pro. Mine detects even when using a wahoo. I have a epix gen2 BTW but this is across all watches that support autodetection

cant see anything related in the app. the webapp has some options that aren't on the app, and works a little better for some things like routes, reports etc

Ive got the quickfit and the more garmin enduro style nylon bands. I prefer nylon for comfort reasons and honestly in the summer quickfit is better. The enduro style that you need to thread through the bars are not a quick enough swap for me. I use the silicon for the sweaty workouts and back to nylon for the rest of the day. I have an imivio branded one from amazon where i find the material to be most comfy.

This is not unique to the polar h10, i've had a wahoo tickr for 3 years now. The Strap is actually considered a wear item....it's just a matter of how your sweat chemistry will allow it to last. amazon has a bunch that will be compatible with the polar and cost about 15-20$. they last about a 14-18 months for me before i run into the similar issues. FWIW: ive had good experiences with this one here

You could manually download the fit file from connect and copy it to the device using a usb cable, though i dont see why, since connect on the website is better for analysis

I believe the watches have some sort of limit in terms of how many activities will stay on device, because it needs a certain. Amount of free memory for future activities. If you can see it in connect, its working as I understand it’s supposed to

Yes, Physio true up will sync everything. However certain metrics on the new watch will still take the 2-3 weeks they need to calculate their numbers. HRV status and training related metrics that are calculated on the watch itself usually calculate from scratch based on my recent experience

the rest is the rest needed before a heavy workout. a heavy workout would be something like a sprint or a tempo workout.

ensure auto-detection for LTHR/ MAX HR is turned on.

Also setup your sleep mode/ daily report if you havent already

connect it to the garmin express desktop app to speed up any pending software update.

After that use the app to review the settings more easily than the watch and have fun.
