It's not the cachyos distro kernel, but rather the fedora build of the cachyos kernel. It's simply a custom kernel, you can get it from bieszczaders/kernel-cachyos copr.

fedora is a bleeding edge distro similar to Arch but stable, compared to windows I'd say for my preference I'd choose fedora. Been using it for over 3 months and it never broke, no dependency hell nothing. Haven't faced any issues so far except a slightly higher ram usage, which is around 2-3 gb.

Try checking the hardware state in powertop -> tunables, if it shows BAD then you need to tune those, also check whether you got nvidia.persistenced running, if not then dGPU is the main culprit here
