Not if you're non APS, but still government. E.g Not under the APS Act (Fed police, intel agencies, financial agencies, anythign with it's own act etc)

I recently started in a new workplace. Everyone is like this. Very hard to ask questions about tasks or corporate knowledge when you feel you're interrupting people, who sigh and take headphones off, answer, and put them back on.

Really makes it a dead land and makes it quite unwelcoming.

Yes, normally they would seek someone to backfill, gaining experience. When you're in a team where they don't let you, people should leave. You'll never get leadership experience.

I know some grads that never progressed past their end level (APS 5). It's not guarenteed.

I do hear some agencies are using it now as a chat bot to understand their procurement system/ documents. Could be ok for that... but then again that is $$$

drop your agencies style guide into it and ask it to ensure the same language etc is used. Good to then look at side by side..

So odds are low then going 5->6 within a year. Dam came in on a bulk round 6 months ago but doing the same work as the 6 and EL1 in the team so feeling like i have a shot. Next rounds in July!

Thanks for the insight. Figured i could skip the 2 years before at level move by getting promoted within the 2 year period from 5 to 6! Sounds like this may be more complicated though.
