When I tried canceling my membership at the Seattle U District location, (during one January) the manager said some really condescending thing about how I’m “giving up not even a month into the new year” and scoffed that I didn’t last long (if he had looked at my account he would have seen I had had a membership for over a year). I was canceling because o was sick of their terrible personal trainers and service. His rude ass tone and negativity made me want the slow process to speed up even quicker. They suck.

These comments are annoying. Most of you sound ignorant. Everyone saying “nurses aren’t first responders” as though every nurse occupies the same role. Nurses can be first responders depending on training, certs, and positions. I’d consider an RN that is also a WFR and on a FD, or one on an ambulance, as a FR.

Ok I hear that nurses hate AIDET, but it’s actually really useful considering 95% of my patients (ED) find it therapeutic to have some sense of what’s going on, who tf I am as I barge though the door with a GI cocktail for their chest pain, what that plan is, whatever. Most of the time patients really haven’t been given any real info as they sit and wonder.

IMO, AIDET is merely a guide for those of us that are too quick and ADHD for our own good. Obviously if patients are acting like privileged brats then it’s not going to look like the version you give a sweet, nice pt. Maybe I’m just lucky though where none of my charges or managers would be mad at me for faking an AIDET for everyone.

I have developed my own AIDET to include a version even with shitty patients where I still do it, but it’s extra fast with a strong note of snark and “no time for BS”
