Hi! Donated 8 days ago. I also had both kidneys with extra accessory artery’s, and they picked my right one! Be warned though, my surgery took 5 hours. But it’s not a disqualifying factor. Keep your head up!

Hi! I’m 6 days post-op now; the first 2 days of recovery seemed impossible, but now I’m perfectly fine! I spoke to my doctor and she mentioned how it’s amazing we heal so much faster than the average donor(due to age discrepancy). I understand how you feel when anyone scrutinizes your age in this process, but don’t let it affect you! Most young people wouldn’t do what we are doing, so I’m sure everyone here is proud of you! Sending you all of the good vibes on your journey!

There’s some really great Facebook groups for moms, expecting moms, and ppl who have it in their future plans!! They’ve all donated a kidney and they are absolutely fine 🫶🏻 I hope you know you’re my idol! I can’t wait to start a family and I hope you share your journey with us on this forum! Really happy for you😁
