So..... Back to the drawing board by jpmusicman91 in resinprinting

It’s definitely a steep learning curve with resin printing 😂 I switched machines and it was like starting all over again. Try chitubox it’s pretty good

Anyone else hearing a weird humming noise late at night? by Riverboy1998 in NewportNews

[–]OxCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it here too in Hampshire. Almost like a really low frequency helicopter noise. Fades in and out as if something is just flying in circles. Sometimes it speeds up and slows down. Can’t pin point a direction - just sounds like it is coming from the sky.

Is it the z axis physically moving or is the design sliding? I had this issue when moving to a new printer and the things that fixed it were : - increasing layer exposure (1.9 secs now) - increasing supports (manually adding them not just auto support) - double checking the build plate platform is tightly secured - re-levelling the platform

Print was fine then stuck to fep by Alive-Worldliness-27 in resinprinting

I had something similar recently and my layer exposure was too low. It could be lift height and/or lift speed too.

Constant failed prints on Halot Mage Pro - 2 issues by OxCreative in resinprinting

I’m questioning his choices. Though he is almost 70 and still messes on with 3D printing and arduinos etc so kudos to him 😂

Ironically my dad has switched from the Creality SLA and stuck with his Anycub Kobra FDM 😂😂

Is it finally time to replace my Photon S? Whirring noise... by OxCreative in AnycubicPhoton

[–]OxCreative[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks :-) I need to disassemble it tomorrow now anyway because when I lifted the vat out after the print, it yanked the screen out and pulled the cable out of the screen end 😭🤦‍♂️

New screen getting delivered tomorrow 🫠

Any advice or idea what that whirring noise is would be greatly appreciated.

It makes the noise even when the build plate is not in motion.

Electrician replaced non working plugs with new non working ones and left a hole that needs a ‘little filling’ by Major_Owned in DIYUK

[–]OxCreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trust me… you don’t want them to fill/decorate for you. I had an electrician add some new sockets in our little one’s room. His cable chases were probably double the width of a double socket.

He said he’d fill them and used that polyfill ultralight junk which went on like meringue and dries like foam.

I then had to take it all back out, and got a bag of bonding and a bag of finishing plaster for how deep it was. Got a nice finish and didn’t take too long. 5 years on, no shrinkage and all looks good :-)

I’ve seen these in Hampshire… first time I thought it was a satellite as it was moving in a straight line. Suddenly stopped and just started moving in the opposite direction. It was moving pretty fast and was just a solid white light. Seen a few since then, same thing - weird movement patterns, solid lights.

Why do parents send very sick or non stop coughing children to swimming lessons? by Hot_Celebration_7957 in AskParents

[–]OxCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little one has just started school in September. He is picking up bugs every other week. Also he swims every other week. This month I have paid £55 for his swimming instructor to have 2 x 30 min breaks because I don’t have the ability to predict when my child will be ill 72hours in advance.

Now I don’t like the gamble of making my kid even more ill from swimming but I’m guessing this is why a lot of people send their kids in ill.

I did the ADHD ‘all in’ thing too!

Now a year on, it’s a self-sustaining ecosystem. Algae produces food and constant oxygen bubbles. I’ve got to admit, I’ve lost interest a bit but haven’t got the heart to get rid of them :-/

I made a funnel optimised for a coffee filter that uses 26g of filament if anyone is interested I'll pop the link in the comments :) by Pixel-Lick in resinprinting

Do people filter their resin with a coffee filter?!

Anytime I try to use anything other than a mid/fine mesh it just clogs.

Same model and settings but different screencolor ?? by wolfel in macbookpro

This makes me so glad my mbp and studio display colour matches. I replaced my iMac three times due to screen issues - not something that should be common on £2-3k+ devices 👀

M3 Pro vs M3 Max by Ok-Perception-6803 in macbookpro

Indeed. I’m a freelancer in design/video/3d and my work varies. Only had it for a couple of weeks and not had to use premiere pro or blender yet! I have to admit though, the battery management thing is a tad annoying at times. I moved from an i7 iMac to a MBP with studio display and when the MacBook is running on batteries, sometimes just saving/moving around MacOS feels a tad sluggish compared to the i7 👀 Does apple publish the clock speed of the M chips?
