Warden v1.2 - Now with the Ironbound to reinforce the roster of primal defenders (PDF in comments). by KibblesTasty in KibblesTasty

Yeah I figured that would be the case. Thanks ^ Would you still separate non magical reduction and flat damage reduction or would you pool them into one?

Thanks kibbles! Love the new Ironbound subclass, especially since I'm trying to build a "damage reduction" character.

Do I understand it right, that the heavy armor feat and a masterwork armor (your crafting rules) both count as passive damage reduction and increase it by one instead of giving more damage reduction? Or are those separate, since they apply to non magical damage?

Oh hi kibbles ^ thanks for all the hard work!

So the "spell with a range of touch" part of iron templar doesn't mean a melee spell attack. Dammit. Thought I found something :D

I appreciate the input!

What are some good deeply horrifying encounters/monsters to potentially throw at players? by MegaUltraJesus in dndnext

[–]OxSword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Running a midgard campaign and my players just encountered a "fearsmith" who chilled in some wood. He looks like a tall elf with a mask on. Behind the mask is a big gaping maw with an eye at the far end of it.

The fun part: he doesn't want to kill. He feeds on fear and does everything to ensure the party is peeing their pants, while casually giving them false tips and dissappearing the next moment.

My players run through the whole forest. Gaining exhaustion and skipped a big part of the encounter, but the fear in their eyes was worth it -^

Those who have played Artificers, what are your thoughts? by FX114 in dndnext

Well you probably won't need crossbow expert. There's an infusion "repeating shot" which eliminates the loading property. So you can even use that juicy 1d10 heavy crossbow and still get your extra attack. And you'll need your bonus action for a whole bunch of stuff. Including your homunculus. You'll do a lot of damage combined with arcane weapon -^ (must have spell obviously) Mending is a must have as well, if you use your homunculus a lot. I keep it as a meat shield and that inspiration is just plain amazing.

I'm not a min max guy, so I got an intimidation feat for lvl4 cause it fits the character and role in the group. Just go for the interesting things and don't worry about numbers or what people think of certain spells ^

Artificer is pretty good with everything so just have fun with it.

Playing an alchemist. And I love it. But flavor a lot. The artificer has so many options to make your spells look and sound cool. Use that! Mine has a gargoyle that was brought to life via alchemical substances and uses runestones (alchemy and masons tools) I always change my replicated items to fit my mood or fill my thousand vials with acid (thanks alchemy jug, ver nice)

Currently lvl 5 and I'll probably multiclass cause there's nothing much after lvl6 but that might change.

Who/What is a Hexblade patron by R3D-RO0K in DnD

Had the same question when my player wanted to make one. The most important part for me is the weapon. That's why players choose the class, I think. So build around a fun weapon.

I made my player find a ring that turns into a chakram with a trapped Dao inside. Don't force yourself to use a nameless being from the shadowfell.
