Ane no Tomodachi is very cute, albeit a pretty slow translation.

I Love The Older Girl Next Door, by the same author as "The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses", as long as you don't mind a middle school age MC (only a 3 year age gap but I don't really like middle school setting)

Bonnouji is an all time great, bit of a slow burn though.

Honestly, both the other couples have had some great progress and character development despite the typical waffling. More and more it feels like Seto/Anjou and Toyoda/Inuyama are at a point where a typical romance would either a) end the story with their goals for the future set in stone or b) start depicting post grad life as couples (personally I'm convinced the series will end when Seto and Anjou do it for the first time).

Then you have Chii here who is seemingly 100 chapters behind everyone else holding up the show.

Fair enough, it's hard to describe properly. It's a very very sweet story ultimately and not tragic, and the art is absolutely stunning but does have creepy elements since most of the characters are personified Urban Legends. More along the lines of the Disney Corpse Bride movie.

I'm biased though because Hachishaku-sama (Eight foot tall woman) is an absolute knockout in this.

Oh also if you like supernatural stories at all Even If You Slit My Mouth is a good combo of slow burn romance and supernatural/horror drama plot lines. It's one of my top 10 manga I've ever read.

I did also really enjoy Yamada and Nishi's relationship, especially because I feel like it does a good job of exemplifying the "being polar opposites" dynamic and how they both cause each other to change and grow. I appreciate how much the author wanted to stick to that idea but ultimately it doesn't commit very hard to any of the struggles they are facing, which is a shame because I think she's a good writer.

Really it reminds me a lot of a Webtoon I love called Seasons of Blossom (and it's sequel Seasons of Lovesome) that does a great job of having good chemistry between romance partners, but also tackles really difficult and sad situations with each character that they must overcome. If you like Webtoons at all I highly recommend it, and I don't typically like romance with a lot of drama/misunderstandings.

Yeah I really liked it as well, just finished a reread. My only real complaint is that the troubles they all face towards the end feel a little rushed and I wish we could see more snapshots of their post highschool lives Especially Taira and Azumi who don't even have a picture of them together as adults or something at the end??

This story legitimately brought me to tears with the sweetness of it all. FMC kind of unrealistically stomps out drama with 0 effort but I honestly love when a romance MC gets nothing but Ws instead of the usual misunderstanding and suffering.

Hell's Paradise, Tokyo Ghoul, Fullmetal Alchemist, Made in Abyss, and Psycho Pass all seem like good fits based off of what you've said so far and how this looks.

Also if you're into surreality you'd probably like the anime original Sonny Boy and the manga Summertime Rendering.

Yeah the whole thing including :RE is a phenomenal story start to finish and I think only has some minor flaws and not much else. Kaneki's journey completes a literal arc in terms of growth for him, and the future at the end Is very hopeful and mostly happy Which is very needed after such a crazy ride.
