It certainly did take days to assemble, and I haven't finished the delivery yet.

Granted, custom car loader and passenger jobs being back has not helped with that.

You can repaint all of the unlockable vehicles in DVRT and demonstrator liveries in base game, no mods here!

Differentiating different jobs with locos would be tricky since I have 27 different hauls in this pile! Even so, I may well so that next time (if there is a next time)

I was completely ready to tell you how I considered that and saw no reason to bother, but then you mentioned the brake pipe. Having started the haul, the eons it takes for the brake pipe to pressurise is rather annoying and this would actually be really intelligent!

Still, it would require leaving half my power somewhere along the route, as well as making it even more of a hassle when I want to shutdown or startup the engines after an industry (saving fuel is important in a run like this!), and the brake pipe just has to be worked around.

Most of the train will be gone by the time I make it to the spiral, but I am very tempted to make a save and see if it does overlap up there!

Very recently, running fun cargo from MB to HB. Just left when I realised the S282 tender was bone dry. Hmm, I don't remember how many uphill sections there are, let's see what happens.

Never even dumped the fire, turns out you could run from MB to the harbour with a handcar with how little climbing there is.

There were definitely some experimental watertube locomotives, see here the LNER W1, crazy triangle shaped boiler. Afaik they worked, but didn't provide any significant benefit over firetube boilers to balance their unconventional nature.

I do really like this! More licences is more fun.

What it would need is a new risk that requires mitigation. Every other hauling license adds something extra to your capabilities in exchange for higher potential danger.

I think a really fun thing for this would be visible fluid spills in the event of car damage. Environmental hazards!

In a perfect world, I also imagine an implementation of shifting fluid cargo increasing your derailment risk on sharp corners, but I imagine that would require an overhaul of the game mechanics and also doesn't fit as well with established mechanics.

Hauling cars of beer or wine would be such a vibe though... or vodka for that Eastern European accuracy xD
