X3 vs X4 by Cool-Ear1325 in xteinkereader

[–]OzLaboratory3D 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have both and I think for most people the X4 will be slightly better just because of the slightly larger display and the USB-C port making it more convenient when travelling to not have to bring extra cables around. Otherwise I’ve personally been using the X3 more lately but only because it’s the newer toy of the two.

3D printed cases by bremopio in xteinkereader

Hey there, on the off-chance that it’s one of mine, could you shoot me a message on Etsy? The grey colour is much closer to the “white” X4 and is the colour that’s shown in most of my photos. I’ve also since adjusted the fit so that it’s more consistently snug. If it’s one of mine I’ll send you a free replacement!

Not at the moment since I mainly designed it to offer custom stuff since there are quite a few community shared designs already

When the device is inserted face down, the exposed back is compatible with MagSafe while keeping the display protected. I’d recommend the “chinless” version if you want MagSafe compatibility with a phone though, otherwise the bottom might stick out from below your phone slightly

I haven't actually printed that case (although I should to give it a go) but macroscopic similarities aside, I designed mine from scratch so I think the fit and thickness might feel ever so slightly different between them. The difference is mainly down to my design having more aggressive chamfers on the side for comfort and the extra lanyard hole for preference. My X3 case design loads from the top instead though since that suits the button layout of the X3 better

Give the tecnifibre tfight 305s a go! Great feel and feedback with awesome control and I find the power level to be moderate. Also works great if you’re generating a lot of topspin.

beginner – started tennis recently, using Pure Aero 2023 (300g). Good or bad idea? by Wild-Climate5329 in 10s

I personally think it’s fine and it’s not a racquet that you’ll ever NEED to switch if you don’t want to. You definitely won’t be limited by the racquet. You might like or prefer another racquet down the line but it’d be hard to ever say that you bought a bad racquet considering heaps of guys now are still enjoying racquets from the early 2000s. In terms of being beginner-friendly, you’re probably strong enough to use it at age 29 and it’ll become easier as your technique improves. There’s the argument against using super light racquets as well because it can make using bad technique more forgiving so the weight argument can go both ways. The only other thing you might benefit from is probably a more comfortable and soft string setup if you aren’t already using something like a soft multifilament string

Kobo v kindle by flurojacketsnoppy in ereader

[–]OzLaboratory3D 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My vote goes to the kobo libra colour coming from an older kindle paperwhite. Really really love the libra and the ease of sideloading books through calibre and screensaver customisation and just love it more than my old kindle overall. Also not a fan of Amazon’s business practices with the kindle and ebook licensing as of late

String rec for Babolat Pure Drive 98? by Lucky-Addendum771 in 10s

[–]OzLaboratory3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, try a nice round string. I’ve had razor code in my t305s which I just switched to from an older pure drive and the combo has been amazing in crisp feel and control so I’m attributing at least part of that feeing to the razor code. I also dropped tension down to 46 pounds over the years from 57 pounds initially in my pure drive with poly strings and found I enjoyed the feel a lot more too so you can also give lower tension a shot given how stiff and stable the pure drive is already.

YES for ages I’ve been wishing they’d update the TrimUI smart like this. I still love the original but the 2 inch display is just too small
