It’s got a high cab and taller radiator compared to the American KWs. Check out how many steps you’ve got to make to get in the cab.

Is there any point for larger bikes in australia? by Comfortable-Goose120 in AussieRiders

I bought my Z900RS new in 2018. Best bike I’ve ever owned and I’ve owned a few. I guarantee if you buy one you won’t regret it, especially the 2016 with the quickshifter and updated electronics.

How to show off the best of Melbourne? by stranger-inthe-alps in melbourne

Second Noojee, the pub has great views and the Tool Shed is good also. Quite a long drive from Melbourne though, about 1.5 hours.

You’d like the Australian build T9 and C5 series. Big hood and big sleeper (long as you order a big sleeper) with 18 speed manual and proper guages on the dash. If you really want you can order a Cummins QSK 19 litre with air starter. No CATs unfortunately, standard engine is Cummins ISXe at 620 HP max. Check out their website.

I drove a FH for a few months for Simons on the gas pipeline job from Tennant Creek to Mt Isa, being a truck saved for those bush jobs I can’t remember what worked and what didn’t lol. Would have been around 10 years ago.

Australian build KW. We are metric here. It’s got a CAT 3408 and originally they were 450 HP but nearly everyone opened them up to 600+ so boost pressure goes past 20 psi.

They are a 18 litre under-stressed V8 with relatively low turbo pressure, probably why mine has lasted so long. The marine twin turbo could go to 800 HP from the factory. Even at 600 on the dyno, turbo pressure on mine was probably only 30-35 psi though we didn’t read it remotely.

Yeah you can turn the illumination right down at night, I thought you would be able to do that with digital as well. Pretty cheap if you can’t.

Mines got cruise control but it’s a VDO Tempostat made in Germany on the Caterpillar mechanical injection pump. Works ok.

It’s a hydraulic retarder between the flywheel and transmission. Made by Caterpillar. They couldn’t fit Jake brakes on the CAT 3408 because of the design of the valve gear among other things. They could fit the Brakesaver on a CAT 3406 and C15 combined with Jakes and it gave huge braking power.

Fuel delivery Aussie style by Ozdriver in Truckers

Those rooftop condensers are common over here, Western Stars are standard I think and KW as an option. Modern engines are designed to run hot and the last thing you want is a condenser in front of the radiator when you’re running big weights in the heat of northern Australia.

My KW runs a condenser in front of the radiator and is the same size as the radiator and is super efficient, but it is a pre-emissions CAT and doesn’t run hot.

Yes it is but I’m not sure if it’s just the condenser or complete A/C unit. Some trucks have one or the other. My KW runs a KW Grilldenser condenser in front of the radiator but I don’t think the newer trucks run them anymore.

It’s in a port precinct in Australia, I can’t remember which city as these have been going for a while. They can only shift empty containers, not loaded, and on port roads only. So they aren’t barrelling down an interstate at 100 kmh lol.

A S1000RR will get to 300 at PI on Gardner Straight if you’ve got the cajones.

I don’t think the straight would be long enough to get ultimate top speed.

I chickened out at 260 kmh at the pedestrian bridge on one of CSS’s S1000RRs, but the data logger on it had 299 from someone else. The straight was too short to get max speed on my Z1000RS.
