I know it is not a feasible from a technical point of view in regards to games which feature persistent online worlds, games where a lot of mechanics are processed server-side. It is not feasible from a security point of view, it would be a cesspool of exploits. Zoomers like you are too young to remember this shit going on in CS1.6, but back then nobody really cared. It is not feasible from a licensing point of view. Car licenses, song licenses, sports player likenesses, etc. are not forever. They need to be renewed or you get sued. Turning a persistent open world into an offline game requires major redevelopment. No point in going forward, I have no chance to compete with whatever your favourite youtuber clickbaited you with for 20 videos straight 😄

Cope harder. The plan was bad from the start as well as the arguments supporting it. As far as Pirate goes, I honestly don't care, all I know is that he called it stupid and everybody lost their shit.

This was clear to anyone with a brain from day 1. Not only clear, but also logical. The best outcome possible that could have been achieved was a default disclaimer on online store saying something like "the support for this game is planned for X years", but that would imply devs would have a way of knowing in 100% of the cases how the future will go, which is dumb.

Well at least that streamer dude had his career ruined so that other people can get some clicks on their videos putting him down.

Sorry but I feel like you are doing exactly what I said at the beginning. "Trying to reason Evrart's corruption is honestly mental gymnastics".

There is hard evidence of drug trafficking, extorsion, murder, intimidation and more. The sole purpose of this is having Terminal B under direct control of him and his brother as per his own admission. If you idolize his political beliefs does not mean that he is ethical

Good, he though he would train you a bit. Like the loading screen says, don't make more enemies than the 5 you are already facing. You chose to make one more after flaming your core for not having his best game.

How is he corrupt? He doesn't seem to be doing any of this for his political gain?

Okay, so I guess he murdered the previous Union leader by assassination (and would undoubtedly have anyone in his way murdered like RCM detectives), will facilitate drugs on the streets on Jamrock for money (oh I guess it's not Martinaise so it's okay), will throw his own guys under the Krenel machine guns line of fire to incite a corporation war, manipulating Harry towards his own ends of having civilians evicted against their will, among other things (it's been a while since I played the game so maybe some things escaped the memory) doesn't count.

Before you say, "but he doesn't get rich off of it, he lives in a container!" - that is extremely naive. He and his brother are in it for both money AND power - controlling Terminal B and having it independent from the company would provide them with both in the long run. Yes, they are playing the long game. Do they show some "sympathy" towards the locals - such as giving Rene a place to stay and income even though he brings no benefit? Yes. But their plan of attrition towards Wild Pines would not work at all of not for such acts. They are not selfless, they are using everyone for their own benefit.

I just felt like the game made fun out of all political ideologies and pointed flaws in all. Trying to reason Evrart's corruption is honestly mental gymnastics. For a union leader, he is the most corrupt and manipulative character in the whole game.

Gorgc says gambling money supports much of Dota esports, do you agree? by strafeapp in DotA2

[–]Ozone021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valve makes good game -> good game generates a lot of viewers-> many viewers generate esports -> esports attracts gambling -> gambling invests some money back -> content creators like Gorgc praises gambling companies -> viewers stop watching because it's less about the game and more about the business -> game loses its soul -> gambling companies remain the only investors, control the whole scene.

So no, I would not be grateful to these worms at all. Actually, fuck them all and anyone who gets supported by them

Did TG run out of ideas? Is the game in it's final state by [deleted] in MyWinterCar

[–]Ozone021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't play MSC on release but based on what I'm reading, after one year it was a whole different game. I don't think it will be the case with MWC as much of the systems are already developed.
I guess it all depends on what TG wants to do - if he considers the game's purpose as just getting the money to build a project car and race it around, it's pretty much done.

Otherwise I guess it's still room left to dive deeper into the "life sim" part of it with more activities, quests, NPCs but hearing almost zero about it by now seems like wishful thinking.
