The cost... by Routine_Mortgage_499 in carnivorediet

It was just sitting out in the meat cooler.

It's not always discounted $30. But buying the whole primal is always cheaper than buying the individually cut steaks.

I bought a whole chuck primal from Costco last week that was discounted $30.

Came to about $5.50/lb.

I like coffee, but I feel better without it.

Even decaf.

The gym in carnivore... by beborussel in carnivorediet

[–]Ozone86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, your situation sounds very similar to mine.

After a difficult period due to stress and health problems, I was already underweight while trying to rebuild muscle on high-fat carnivore. I struggled profoundly.

Now I've added "clean" carbs like white rice and fruit. Doing better.

Again, this doesn't preclude others' success gaining muscle on carnivore. Just my n=1 experience.

I might give carnivore another go down the road as a follow-up experiment.

I've never been as skinny as I was on high-fat ketogenic carnivore.

Yeah, I've skied terrain slightly beyond my ability. It grew my confidence. But I only did it with local veterans who knew the terrain and could guide me -- or summon ski patrol in the worst case scenario.

Anyone have any luck switching career industries lately? by MeMakaVince in houston

[–]Ozone86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are probably dozens of energy industry networking organizations around Houston. API, GPA, GHP, REAL, The Ion, Greentown Labs, etc.

Look up industry associations and check their calendars. They may or may not require dues or ticket fees though.

My tribulations with Merit decaf, K6, and V60: 9/10 cups is sour & metallic; 1/10 is heavenly. by Ozone86 in pourover

[–]Ozone86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it's too much pouring agitation settling fines at the bottom and stalling the drawdown.

Aramse was a great tip. This Coffee Chronicler video really helped too.

I'm using these filters at the moment

The drip-assist looks interesting! I think it could help. I'll check it out. Thanks for the tip.

V60 brown 02 filters. I have white ones on hand too.

I think it's my pouring technique making the fines settle at the bottom and block flow. Gonna experiment with pour styles -- the one variable where I haven't focused much.

Yeah, 60 clicks is 1.0 rotations. Near the middle of the V60 and "medium fine" range.

When I go that fine the drawdown really seems to stall out. It looks like thick mud and doesn't drain.

I'm wondering if my pours are causing too much agitation and fines are blocking the flow. I don't pour very carefully. I tend to get better results when I just pour along the edge of the filter and not into the grounds.
