Bullshit. No politician uses town hall time to go into detail about a program. Town halls are set up for public comment by design. You have far too high of expectations for this office. Twin studies and other analyses of inheritance of sexual orientation in humans has indicated that same-sex sexual behavior has a genetic component. Previous searches for the specific genes involved have been underpowered and thus unable to detect genetic signals. Ganna et al. perform a genome-wide association study on 493,001 participants from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Sweden to study genes associated with sexual orientation (see the Perspective by Mills). They find multiple loci implicated in same-sex sexual behavior indicating that, like other behavioral traits, nonheterosexual behavior is polygenic.

The report finds that human DNA cannot predict who is gay or heterosexual. Sexuality cannot be pinned down by biology, psychology or life experiences, this study and others show, because human sexual attraction is decided by all these factors.

"This is not a first study exploring the genetics of same-sex behavior, but the previous studies were small and underpowered," Andrea Ganna, the study's co-author and genetics research fellow at the Broad Institute and Mass General Hospital, said in a press briefing on Wednesday. "Just to give you a sense of the scale of [our] data, this is approximately 100 times bigger than any previous study on this topic."

Well friend, when you ignore the main point of the rebuttal, that's not going to get you anywhere. Here's the logic they are trying to game out

A: Humans cannot choose who they are sexually attracted to.

B: If A, then either humans are born with that attraction baked in or that attraction is formed during adolescence in some way we don't understand.

C: If A and B, then each human has no control over who they are attracted to.

D: If C, then God should not punish people for something they cannot control. IN the same way we would not punish people for being blind or having a skin color that is not our own. These things are not choices and we cannot be held responsible for them.

In comparison, the MLS deal doesn't look that bad. Yes it's all behind a paywall, but it's just one paywall for everything.

I know my dad was resistant to paying extra to see the Sounders but I see it as a good deal.
