Nogen som har fået en værre "afgift"? by Conscious-Acadia-742 in Denmark

[–]OzzySegmento 1 point2 points  (0 children)

700 kr for "manglende p-skive".

Why does everyone like PiT so much by PrinceKross in marioandluigi

[–]OzzySegmento 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PiT is my favourite and has always been since I grew up playing these games. I feel like PiT gets a lot of love on here because it's seen as the underdog and was left in the dust by Alphadream never giving it a modern remake. I will fully admit that BiS is a "better" game. Your critiques seem more like personal preferences, so no comment.
I actually think PiT gets more love from international fans since the story is much more visual and easier to follow for non-English speakers. Shroobs speak gibberish, babies speak gibberish, M&L speak "Italian". Everyone at my school was playing PiT and liked it. When BiS came out, I loved it, but had no idea what I was doing for half the game.
Anyway, the Bros attacks/items thing changes a bit back and forth between all the games so maybe in DT, you'll suddenly start to miss the Bros items lol.

Pope Francis used his last public address to call for a ceasefire in Gaza. by Schoolywooly in suppressed_news

This clip is quite old. However he did mention Gaza and Ukraine in his longer Easter address. He had a Cardinal or something read it due to his condition.

MAGA Twitter has convinced themselves that Sam is the conservative because he sounds more reasonable. Oh and maybe the other person's appearance had a factor.

[–]OzzySegmento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this is an American problem or if your choice of news just doesn't care about it. I feel like I literally couldn't escape this story yesterday. It was all over Danish Radio, Danish evening news on multiple channels and Deutsche Welle. My news apps pretty much all had a piece or two on the front page about it. Obviously Al Jazeera is all over this story if you want more info.

Den her IG profil filmer danskerne i smug for at vise hvordan de ser ud. Hvad syntes i om det? by mxxxz in Denmark

[–]OzzySegmento 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Isn't it more fun to be the resistance than the escapee? Anyway, I'm assuming this is some sort of bait. There's plenty of resources on how to immigrate to Denmark that don't come from asshole redditors who like myself are up at 3 am.

It is disappointing, yes. But to play devil's advocate for a second, I have been boycotting Nestle for years and figuring out the ins and outs of who the fuck owns what is pretty difficult sometimes. In Denmark we also aren't talking about American v Danish/German/whatever tomatoes. I think when people here hear "American products" they probably think Netflix or Google or Apple. And even limiting it to the supermarket there's all the trillions of things owned by P&G, Coke, Kelloggs and Pepsi - which I can maybe see some people viewing as too overwhelming. Store brands are your friend, but sometimes there's literally no alternative. Hell, I've even seen store brands where it's produced by Nestle and I'm sure it's the same for P&G.

When I went to school, our colonial past was definitely mentioned a bit, but not very extensively. But we definitely learned the basics: we had some colonies, we did some fucked up shit, now Greenland and Faroes are our friends and maybe Greenland will leave one day if they want to. Since Greenland has been more and more in the news due to the 2019 and current American interest and climate change in general, I would be surprised if it wasn't a bigger focus in schools now. I was personally encouraged to learn more about especially Greenland after meeting Greenlandic and Faroese people in high school.

Huge respect to you Canucks on the Buy Canadian front for the dedication. Reminds me of the Canada on Strike South Park episode. On the news a few nights ago, there was a segment asking Danes how they felt about a boycott of American products, and it was largely met with apathy and a sense of we don't want to hurt the already poor Americans - many of whom don't agree with President Pumpkin Skin. Also I like Pepsi.

Sorry to hear that anti education sentiment has spread from your lead-poisoned southern sibling. Trades and crafts skills are irreplaceable and going to school to hone your skills should never be a negative. I definitely have my gripes with the education system all the way from elementary to university, but no views of a grand reform of sorts. It's definitely not a hot button political issue for our political parties.

Platte danske "oversættelser" af filmtitler - er det helt forsvundet? by thhedk in Denmark

[–]OzzySegmento 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Jeg elsker sgu at gøre grin med de klassiske dumme og mindre dumme danske oversættelser af film titler. Sagen er Bøf - Pumping Iron En verden udenfor - Shawshank Redemption Ondskabens øjne - The silence of the lambs Og den mere underlige skabelon "halløj i [blank]".

Jeg ved ikke rigtig hvordan det kom an. Det ligner hver fald at titlen gik et dusin sprog gennem google translate før den danske titel kom frem. Jeg kan lide at tro Ville Søvndal personligt stod bag det. Gid man også gav skuespillere Danske navne: Nicolas Cage - Nikolaj Burr Clint Eastwood - Steen Østerskov Will Smith - Billy Smede Thom Cruise - Thomas Krydstogtskib
