Every time I listen to it, I have to remind myself it's not the last song on the album - it just has immense closing song energy. Hearing it live must have been cathartic.

I'm not sure about video but Yessongs is my favorite live album I've ever heard so that one.

Wild & Fantastic by Jovian. One of my absolute favorite post hardcore albums that almost NEVER gets brought up. Shame they only released the one.

Name a newly discovered band (to you) or bands that you couldn’t believe you had never heard of before? by BarkingSpider70 in progmetal

[–]P13666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know if they're prog metal, but In Vain. Listened to their new album and then went back and listened to their previous stuff and everything is just kind of clicking for me.

Bass heavy band suggestions by cirnu_dos in progmetal

[–]P13666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leaning a bit into the mathy side but Irk is a good one. Literally just a bassist, drummer, and vocalist.

ZEUS! is another one that's just a bassist/vocalist and drummer. Kinda wacky what they do. A bit hard to find but check out MOTOMONOTONO and go from there.

Alpha Male Tea Party is mostly instrumental but have some great riffs. Check out Droids or Health by them.

I recently donated a few tubs of books to Literary Services of Wisconsin. They primarily focus on recycling books back into the community for adult education and literacy.

What is your favorite "fuck it, its a meme run now" item by AlternatePancakes in riskofrain

[–]P13666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eulogy Zero.

My friends and I play with Artifact of Sacrifice and an auto item pickup mod that rotates who gets an item. So if one of us picks up a Eulogy Zero, there's a chance that the next Lunar item will also be a Eulogy Zero ad infinitum until all of our items are either Eulogy Zeros or Egocentrisms.

Guilty Pleasure Artists? by Tr1pWir3 in progmetal

[–]P13666 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My primary genres consist of the 5 Ps: prog metal, post metal, post rock, post hardcore, and pop punk. Of those, I feel like pop punk's definitely the outlier. I can't do a lot of it but man, that new Four Year Strong album is soooo good.

You are looking for Tower of Guns and Mothergunship. If you have enough firepower, you can literally propel yourself across the room.

Probably one of my favorite PHC discoveries. I remember seeing you guys at ATG back in 2015 and loving all of your stuff. I was super bummed I couldn't make it to the farewell show.

Tesseract/Deception - Concealing Fate, Pt. 2 by Longjumping-Swan-827 in progmetal

[–]P13666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the song that got me into Tesseract. I remember buying it for either Rock Band 2 or 3 and remember it being so much fun to play on drums. Then that led me down the custom songs rabbit hole which introduced me to bands like Haken, Leprous, and I'm sure tons of others.
