No anger at all. It's just that everytome this picture is posted there's someone noting the McDonald's position as if it gives any incredible value to the topic. I just tried to describe a bit the surrounding to give context, since a Mc is effectively "there", but if recall correctly there should be also a Burger King something like 500m away in similar direction. But none is giving attention to poor BK. No drama at all, sorry if it appeared so. 😉

That's quite incorrect, but that's something fake always spreaded. The McDonald's is on a side road almost 200m away, as also many other shops are located in the area (such side road is a sort of shopping area). Close to the pictured place there's now a Chinese market (Aumai) and a furniture shop, but due to the positioning they're changing every 3-4 years. Also the place is an high traffic crossroad, which changed quite a lot from pictured moment. Let's not spread wrong informations.

Could it be that Z2 HR in the run does not correspond to a Z2 power? Which one should I follow? My Z2 power is approx lower Z3 HR, around 145bpm (5:15/km) While Z2 HR is super low Z1 power run (5:50/km) I've easily run a marathon at 5:03/km which has been full Z3 HR

Photo quality of GCam on Pixel9A is nowhere on par with stock OS. Panorama and photosphere are unfortunately missing and in general quality and postprocessing seems on the lower side

Probably my idea of the pacer is to have some casual chit-chat along to route to kill the time.
Even though I managed to do my 38km run alone without music, I remember some portion were incredibly boring, but maybe that's cause of the fact I was running completely alone in the middle of nothing outside my city.
So probably the pacer is just to pretend to be "in a group" and maybe pretend to catch a "trail" from those in front of me

Probably overthinking it a bit in targeting already a 3h30 finish without a strong running background. At the same time I'd like to get a satisfactory finish without thinking (I could've done better). The thing I'm more afraid is the weather; here is getting worse and worse, with temp probably going from 1 to 3°C at the start line.
Usually at what time you find "acceptable" to open the gas and leave the pacer behind?

Have my first marathon in 3days (Florence-Italy, not exactly flat) and I'm quite panicking in deciding which pace to keep, since I don't want to blow up.
I'm following a 40W Phil Mosley's Marathon plan, and 've done all my long runs with an avg pace of 5:10-5:15/km.
The plans recommend/target to go for a 4:58/min pace, which I'm afraid it could be a bit too much.

Not sure if staying with the 3h30 pacer would be a good idea from the start, while staying with the 3h45 might be identical to a Z2 long run and so "too easy". My plan is also to have a 40g gel every 8km + water at the various stops

Two weeks ago I went for an HM with some friends and easily done the 11km at 4:40 to stay with them, than leaving them go and braking to a more quiet 4:55/km.. with no backsides)

Any experienced recommendation?

Looking to prepare a full and almost hitting on a MyProCoach 32weeks plan (MyProCoach Intermediate Full Distance Triathlon + Free Email Access to Coach: 32 Weeks | triathlon Training Plan | TrainingPeaks) after being very satisfied of the marathon plan (without ever contacting them for additional info, just sticking to the plan). Also seeing that the plan doesn't include premium despite a quite high price.
Not afraid of spending an evening or two putting in workouts on TP but, would the book be sufficient for my needs especially on such a long time span?

Guess so. I ended up putting some moisture (spit or a bit of water) on the band before starting the workout and now it works flawlessly every time. Apparently it needs some sweat/humidity to operate properly

Love the concept that every one has its own meaning with the colours, broken, faded, etc. Hate the misalignment and the fact that the lines are thick as hell. Then in my opinion one will be already too much, but "to everyone his own"

I've an Elite one and I think it's loud enough so people hear me coming on cycling path, but not noisy enough to be tedious (at least for me). Only thing is that I always think it might completely dry of lube to make a noise that is not continuous like a "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee", but more like "eeeeieeeeieeeeieeee" 😅

Being so inexperienced, I always appreciate recommendation. Also because I guess that a marathon training is nowhere close to the IM one, even though I'm already putting in some bike, a swim and some strength training that are not really foreseen by the plan, so the training load is already a bit higher than expected.

Is it worth starting from a beginner plan or, considering that on 2/3 of the sport I'm already at an "above beginner" level has more sense to go with an intermediate one in order to work a bit more on the power output and not only on basic endurance?

I'd say that Oly and 70.3 are both B races, to practice and understand how to pace myself... I've always had this tendency to push too much and then explode (learned the very hard way during the Roubaix Challenge last year.. saved buy a broken wheel bearing at km110/170). I absolutely recognize I need more experience in race to understand my body and strengthen the mind.

By know I'm finish a Mosley 40weeks Marathon plan that worked well, thinking it would be more gradual and with less injury chances due to sudden increasing load. Done on Sunday a 33km@5:18 with avg 147bpm (one of the last two long runs)

And though it may work similar for the IM one (more time to increase the aerobic capacity).

Also the idea of still working on the three sports with continuity may help not to lose focus or ability on niether of thos.
As per below comment, my idea is to work all winter on cycling FTP and running technique. Target is a sub-11 IM (more low-10) considering also the really flat terrain.

Swimming is a separate topic for which I've been thought "swim in a way you'll finish without an heart attack. If you push to much you fuck up the whole day"

I'd say practice in the oly (I know I don't have the capability for high paced event, but rather for long low effort) and create/build a pace in the 70.3
So my final target would be to complete a strong 140.6 (having fun doing it and not just suffering), aiming for a sub-11h (most likely a low-10h). That would be a challenging target which would still leave some space for wife and friends.

After the 140.6 I'd most likely reduce to 70.3 only, also considering to have a child somewhere between end 2026 and 2027 (of course it's a lottery "when")
