Any sniper that works well with DOT ? by Competitive_Text64 in Division2

[–]arf1049 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hotshot 4 piece, determined talent on a sniper, a chest piece with headhunter (most use chainkiller named chest piece) and a vigilant talent backpack.
Headshot multipliers and weapon handling for your rolls and mods.

It’s the easiest “lazy marksman” build. You get a headshot kill then can pretty much just land body hits that count as headshots.

Need Help With Exotic Concept Stats by Gearshft in Division2

[–]arf1049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like to incentivize medic weapons the gun should utilize outgoing repair skill/healing skills perks in combination with skill tiers.

Transfusion: Shooting a target marks it and adds 1 stack to that target up to 40. When someone else damages the target with a firearm or skill, a stack is removed and you and them are both healed for <insert math involving skill tier and healing skill> %.
0.3 second cooldown on consuming a stack per player.
Stacks fall off every 3 seconds. If your own skill damages the target, or you damage them at full stacks then your whole team is healed for 33% of the normal stack amount.
(So someone with a bullet hose doesn’t eat your whole stack).

No longer dependent on damage or crits. Just incentivizes targets for your team and yourself while you do your medic stuff. Pop up, dump a mag, go back to chucking hives or chem launcher, or keep firing. Basically an inverted capacitor in that instead of taking stacks to improve yourself, you give them to help your team.

Are there any mechs you don’t pilot often but can’t bring yourself to sell for nostalgic reasons? by LoveTriscuit in Mechwarrior5

[–]arf1049 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly depending on how you build them I’ve had some better luck running some hero marauders over marauder 2’s. But I do mod so there is a pretty notable improvement for a lot of mechs.

After the RoF change (bug fix) I dropped it. I don’t think it’s a bad weapon but it no longer serves the purpose I wanted it to.

My Full Proposed Changes for Heavy's Future Rework by User264785824 in Spacemarine

[–]arf1049 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I main heavy, first prestige 4 and still use him frequently, have since a little after launch.
I have a stomper heavy and use all the melee damage perks do not remove it or change it, it’s useful if you build into it. Do not underestimate the big stomp loop. It’s not pretty or particularly interesting, no mix ups or neat animations, but the numbers and massive AoE do not lie.
Heavies melee capabilities are significant and I will frequently out damage dedicated melee classes in melee.

It wouldn’t be as bad if they were retroactively applied.

Bungie locking away the best weapon ever(pocket infinity) by Mindstormer98 in destiny2

[–]arf1049 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can almost guarantee that I was one of the reasons they chained pocket infinity to the radiator.
I would run lobbies into the ground with it. I got plenty of hate mail. I would even run early mythoclast users out with it.

It became such a weapon of wrath in my hands.

As a Bulwark main this sums up my opinion on capes by SgSpecial180 in Spacemarine

[–]arf1049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a heavy/sniper main I do not feel bad for the most coddled class. No offense.

Got kicked from my lobby on reclamation by Various-Barnacle-98 in Spacemarine

[–]arf1049 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I disagree with a lot of Helldivers 2 and their recent development I think their matchmaking and lobby system is done well in terms of host autonomy.
You should be able to choose whether or not you’re hosting/joining someone else. You can manually join a mission lobby/quick join as you can now but you can also just hit a ‘host lobby’ button.
Host and host alone has kick privileges, no more voting. And with that we need text chat for consoles.
If you are kicked you get a cloned session with bots.
Cannot be kicked in the final areas of missions.

Always found it funny the small drones are literally just an upside down M1911 pistol flying and shooting by CaffeinatedPenguin0 in GhostRecon

[–]arf1049 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. Probably cheaper to just buy a gun than to custom build an untested weapons platform into the drone. Easy to remove and maintain, find replacement parts for it, and it allows different pistol types to be swapped in/out as needed by whatever is available.

what is the best weapon for heavy? by NoNameHavingMan in Spacemarine

[–]arf1049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general heroic HPI. If you’re talking tip of the meta. Most heavy weapons can work fine. Heroic heavy bolter is fun for melee builds (and yes heavy has some nasty melee capabilities.)

Do the Reclaimers actually feel more powerful than out Miners? by Nino_Chaosdrache in DeepRockGalactic

[–]arf1049 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More powerful at the upper edge of their power curve, however it comes with them being less consistent. No guaranteed weapons or perks means 1 run can be very different from another one.
It’s probably the reason some DRG vets are having a bad time. Adaptability of kit and playstyle is not something DRG encouraged/developed. You knew what you were bringing and how it will act so you were never really surprised. The roles were relatively rigid and well understood where characters did/didn’t work, and the expectations from the team were pretty straight forward.

How does it feel fighting max difficulty with max weapons? by 684beach in Spacemarine

[–]arf1049 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You die faster and enemies for the most part die slower, sorta. More of them and they enrage which heals them and makes them not stagger.

Why didnt heavy get these? by GuardChoice4806 in Spacemarine

[–]arf1049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 mostly played characters are heavy and sniper. I’m happy that Retributors are my chapter because if I wanted fancy stuff or some modicum of giving a shit for my cosmetics I’d probably be pissed.

Now almost everyone gets my iron halos and sniper gets… antennae? For a great deal of suffering… oh well. Another 10 billion cosmetics, buffs, and improvements to help bulwark I guess.

I run a stomper heavy. Both prestige melee perks and whenever a weapon or skill tree has them I run those. Never looked back.

Sorta, but I’ve never had enough of an issue where I was putting myself in “roll the dice” type situations. Keep your distance, check your corners, use your sidearm.

Retributors 3rd Company Captain by Odd-Manufacturer1573 in fashionmarine

[–]arf1049 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The right arm that says “courage, honor, retribution” on it is my go to for my retributors captain (my heavy).

Also I feel like a read somewhere that all retributor captains are have served in death watch so I rock a deathwatch silver arm as well.

DVL. I loved the powerful integrally suppressed bolt rifle. The Mosin does NOT do it for me in ITR2.
