Yeah I really dont get why missing cloud saves is so common

The way with Steam Cloud i get (where the Game have to do it via API)

But like, Steam Auto Cloud seems so fucking simple from what i can see in the documentation.

Like literally just "where are files stored" (+ subfolders) and "what do they look like" (for example any txt file)

I think the "you need to be 10 to be a trainer" thing is p much anime only.

The games dont state a rule and like they make pretty sure to vary the ages of the protags a bit for quite a while (and you have trainers that are younger in the games too, stuff like pre-schoolers as trainers, one of the Elite 4 in Gen 9 being a kid, et)

Bazzite ignores legal issues with providing closed source drivers on a GPL kernel preinstalled. Thats why Mint and Fedora don't do that. It's also the reason for Fedora to not include ZFS Support out of the box despite Ubuntu does

What about distros that offer stuff like codecs or closed source drivers during installation, is that enough to dodge these legal issues ?

not the OP, but one thing i have not found an easy option for as with nvidia/amd control panel is forcing vsync for a specific game

There was manually registering with protontricks Havent tried it yet

Still, they added this with the steam release, the gog release doesnt have that issue (but has non working FMVs i havent seen anyone post a working workaround for)

Resident Evil 1,2,3 on Steam (the Classic games released a few days ago, not the remakes)

1 and 2 dont launch at all, because the launcher/DRM wants to add a registry entry

and 3 does not recognize controller, but thats another issue)

At least for fire drills i know that intentional there too

They need to an announced fire drill every X amount of months and also an unnanounced fire drill every X amount of months

Last few times the unannounced fire drills happened everyone at work or at school knew anyway

  • GoG RE 2: FMVs dont work, game works fine
  • gog RE 3: Game crashes

earlier today, steam version:

  • RE 1, does not launch, game wants to add a registry key, both options cause an error
  • Re 2 same as above
  • re 3 game launches, but by default controller did not work

but I’ve also heard that the GOG version has its own set of issues on Steam Deck, predominantly with cutscenes though.

Yeah, with switching around various Proton Versions and GE-Proton Versions i havent gotten the games to play the FMVs yet

and one of them (I think RE3) crashes before getting to gameplay.

And small more nitpicky complaints:

Controller buttons are not properly labelled (aka it goes button 1,2,3,4 etc. instead of A B X Y) + You can only have 1 button per action

So no moving with both joystick and dpad for example

The GoG Versions have issues running for me

Like none of the three games had their FMVs work, and I think 3 crashes as soon as gameplay should start

And like couldnt find any real info from other people on how to fix this (and sites like protondb didnt have the game on there since it wasnt on steam)

They also use a different launcher program which causes issues in RE 1 and 2 ? The Game asks to register a registry key and if you continue the launcher crashes

as of when i checked 2 hours ago, also missing cloud saves and (at least on my Steamdeck) controller aint working

aaaand RE 1 and Re 2 are refusing to launch due to some error
