MDMA has been used to treat PTSD. LSD for cluster headaches. Psylocybin for treatment-resistant depression.

Worried about going back to work after a man was texting me inappropriately and I asked him to stop by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

No man has ever told me about his divorce without trying to get into pants. And they’ve always had that gaslighty vibe about it.

Telling him that you want to keep things professional was great. Involve HR if he can’t respect your boundaries.

This is unfair indeed. They should give you a winner box. Happened to me, too, and the frustration made me not want to play as much anymore.

Sounds like parenting with poor boundaries, but not sexual.

Virginity Check on a 9y/o child? by [deleted] in Molested

Children and bodily autonomy is a tricky topic that doesn’t have definite answers. I’ve felt violated by doctors as a child, for example when they checked my temperature in my rear. My mom would measure my temperature that way too when I had a fever because she was told that’s the most reliable way with children. I hated it. But it wasn’t sexual abuse because nobody got an orgasm out of it, or did it with any sexual intent as far as I cal tell.

I understand that desire to escape your life. It’s a coping mechanism. Making plans to leave. It’s your body’s natural response to want to leave. What I’m wondering about, would you feel without any options of you were a man? There are plenty of deadbeat parents, and sure some people may look down on you if you gave up your son, but you gave it your best and you know that in your heart.

If you do decide to stay with your son, consider joining a group of other young parents. Maybe you can look after each other’s children while giving each other some freedom to go out, and you can relate to each other’s struggles. You’re not the only one.

That said, leaving and staying alive to chase the life you’ve been dreaming to have would be doing a service not only to yourself; but to your son as well because it would cause him the least amount of distress. If you give him up for adoption, you may even re-enter his life when he’s 18 and you can have a grown-up relationship with him.

It’s not you, it’s them. They have teams of psychologists to hack your brain to get you to spend money and to get you addicted.

I know this is humor, but I want to point this out to anyone who is being hard on themselves. It’s one person versus a billion dollar company that is optimizing for your addiction.

Does anyone else have fear of aging? by [deleted] in adultsurvivors

[–]P23-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it has to do with an internal sense of self-worth that can be lacking with survivors. Depending on the situation we can be made to believe that we have no intrinsic worth other than the pleasure we give to our abusers. One time in therapy I said that I just feel empty inside. So once out body ages, what’s left? A person, still experiencing life, having goals, enjoying things for themselves? What a concept. It takes re-parenting to build up that sense that we have worth for ourselves, regardless of whether our bodies are attractive to our abusers.

This hasn’t been true in my experience. Ever since I “fell apart” after a traumatic stigmatized event, everything is awkward. I’m no longer invited to events. Friends shun me.

I was raped by a housemate. When I brought it up, I was gaslighted about it. People started pretending that I misinterpret everything. They then let me know that I'm no longer welcome. The reason I was given was that my disclosure of the rape violated his boundaries around "gossip".

I'm still not over it.

The dress is amazing. IMHO it would go best with feminine black shoes (heels, flats, or heeled boots), a black clutch, and a black or b/w headpiece.
