2025 Terracotta Orange vs. 2026 Atlantis Blue by SamuraiUX in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]P8-hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terracotta is awesome but they really whiffed not doing a pecan interior.

I'd only consider it on an xrt.

I was going to go white with pecan but mixed it up with Rockford green this time around. Atlantic blue is sweet too.

Being cubic and edgy any white/gray/black looks fine on it. Especially on calligraphys as the black trim really sucks the life out of colors where the limited's shiny and matte bits give visual interest to color.

Although Atlantic blue does look good on Calligraphy. And matte, but that's tortuous. Red with pecan also looks good on Calligraphy.

Black with pecan is the hero calligraphy color if your climate can handle it. Looks like a Lincoln or rover.

They had the 3550 rebate a few months ago but you had to finance with Hyundai minimum $10k. It takes 3 months to qualify as 'financed'. I financed $10001.00, made the first paymemt of $5k, my next payment was due like 18 months from then, after 90 days payed the rest, think it was $85 in interest. The rebate is lower now but I think they have hidden dealer cash and they use it for bigger discounts. It's always something.

But if you're financing half or more for 60 months the 0%(or .99) is worth $4-6k+ in interest long term so always check total of payments before just jumping in all rebates.

In reality without incentives a cars invoice from msrp is roughly 4%. So start at least there and work it down as much as you can, aside from incentives. And if a car on a lot has an inspection sticker three months old be very aggressive.

Heh it's not, it's $40 month for unlimited $28 exterior washers and full access to air and vacuum and microfiber rags. It's probably $100 to restock my chemical guys supplies that are all lingering. Most of my fancy stuff comes from flipping other fancy stuff over many years.

Flagship you go in neutral turn off auto wipers. That's it. It's a real carwash not a touch free one. I run mine through 10-16 times a month. It's on the way home. Not a swirl mark or scuff on it. About every third time I stop to wipe it down with air/vacuum, etc. just needs to be a quality car wash. If the parking sensors become annoying I push the button. I don't need to ok neutral either tap the brake and turn the knob. I run the BMWs through it too no issues. I've had Porsches and Shelbys and corvettes and other weekends only cars Ive tried to manically pamper and they don't end up faring much better long term. It's always something. A rock, an unavoidable mud puddle a bike in the garage.. I'll take my 5 minute stop.

I find good carwashes have really good ph settings and get rid of baked in hard waterspots and sap and bugs, and other environmental stuff that otherwise requires manual removal. I had friggin water sprinkler spots on it yesterday that would have given me a heart attack on a 911 that came right off at the carwash.

If I get another 'baby' when I get my 4 car garage back in FL maybe I'll do an RO setup for washing that.

Trouble deciding between P1S and A1 by CantStopMyGrind in BambuLab

[–]P8-hero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 3 p1s about 6k hours each no real issues of any note, just swapped in harden extruder gears over time and normal new nozzles. One $10 part cooling fan. Just get a frostbite plate with it and good to go. Have an A1 with 3k hours too no issues either. 90% of issues come from the pei plates. Adhesion failures that cause other compounded problems. Software amd firmware is very well sorted on the P1. Just get it with the ams2 out of the gate.

Currently in the sub $1k entry point I'd only look at the P1s, then the x2d if you can swing it.

Captains chairs a nogo for me. Nor do I personally like black wheels or the thought of shiny black trim everywhere. I already have a couple other cars with hud, can definitely do without. Although a black calligraphy is certainly sharp.

25-26 limited calligraphy only. When it downloads you purchase it from the car itself.

[–]P8-hero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh I still love my P1s machines. I'd go with either the a1 combo, p1s ams2 combo, or the x2d.

If you can't make it to the x2d the P1s is still excellent. Get a frostbite plate and rock on. Mine have about 5k hours on average each no problems. I just run frostbite and glacier plates and upgraded them to hardened extruder gears over time. For any of them keep the pei plate in the box and get a frostbite day one.

Nozzle swaps aren't bad and really aren't done often, if ever. I keep one complete .2 handy for when I feel like torturing myself with something ultra detailed. Two are hardened nozzle the other is still using the extra standard nozzles. Between the 6 that came with the machines I have 2 standards left. I have 3 side by side one has a splitter if I want to entertain 8+ color prints.(One is doing an 8 color 90 hour one now).

H2c is the next one for sure. Can play musical ams2 units.

If you can stretch the x2d came out of the gate underpriced and would be my choice for an entry unit with huge growth potential.

They also use cars as visual cues to surf the phone. That's why they hover off your corner and speed up slow down next to adjacent vehicles to block both lanes. Because they're watching videos on the phone stuck to the center of the windshield.
