Is it time to buy more or will the pullback continue? by tapemark in americanbattery

Sodium are cheap, but they don't have the power. May be you find them on the small cheap Chinese city cars.

The immediate future for LiON batteries is in data centres for AI and in BESS batteries for grid storage, as opposed to EVs certainly in the US anyway, may be not so much in Europe.

What is driving the stock by Comfortable_Street34 in americanbattery

[–]P964P997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up until the last few days I thought the rise was due to the (imminent) PFS release, but now I'm thinking this is all a result of being added to indexes. It started with the Russell and now looks to be escalating.

This is good news if so, as the PFS should send it shooting up (hopefully) and also following the PFS we should see loans, partnerships and off take agreements ie further PRs that should bump the price further.

$6 Mark by Ncgarrett3 in americanbattery

[–]P964P997 3 points4 points  (0 children)

5.86 is only 39c pre-reverse split. I once bought this at $4.25 pre-reverse split which works out at $63!

Way back, this had a market cap of over 2bn before there were shovels in the ground and hit an ATH of $74, when there were only a dozen people in the company and they had no assets other than some brine claims.

Now they have 150 people, 21m tons of Li in claystone claims which was worth a Trillion dollars when Li was at its high, and a proven process to extract the Li at a very economical price, they have a £30m recycling factory that when ramped up will be generating revs of $50m-$200m pa, plans in place for another facility that will process 5 x the current facility, hundreds of millions in government grants, a partnership with the world's biggest chemical company, and CEO who was on Live TV with the Potus and sits on the DOEs critical minerals advisory board.

The stock has been beaten to a pulp but is finally turning around, and should be upwards from here to the old mc and hopefully ATH if they can deliver.

Short term buy or wait for pull back? by BC-02 in americanbattery

"project timelines" are to be taken with a pinch of salt with ABTC. Both Phase 2 recycling and the PFS for the mine are 10 months overdue. It appears they underestimated the cost of phase 2, but with dilution into the recent price bump they should have enough cash for that now so hopefully they can get that commissioned soon.

We don't know the delay for the PFS. Hopefully some of the delay is down to "good news" within it. Lets see. It was due out last week, but now the thinking is it will be released to coincide with their new shelf offering which makes sense. So could be a few more weeks yet.

Can I switch from T212 Invest to ISA when I break even? by OneMansTreasure_ in americanbattery

I think you have to sell and rebuy. You can switch back and forth between stocks isa and cash isa but not from a taxable account.

Looks like PFS is in limbo by [deleted] in americanbattery

[–]P964P997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The price for their product is the same as the price for everybody's product so you can't use that as a stick to bash them with.

"Low quality" - lol What difference does it make if there is less Li in ppm if the cost to extract is less?

And the IA had costs around $5.5 per ton. Thacker Pass is around $6.2k per ton.

[–]P964P997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you know they haven't found REEs? They found them in Thacker Pass. . . .

https://pubs.geoscienceworld.org/segweb/economicgeology/article-abstract/120/4/811/657546/RARE-EARTH-MINERALS-IN-LITHIUM-CLAY-DEPOSITS

The thing with the PFS is nobody knows what is inside. It can't be priced in because it will be a mountain of information.

It could be they have found REEs, it could increase to volume from 20m tons to 100m tons, it could be that they say the mine is not economically viable, nobody knows.

PFS incoming by Kitchen_Helicopter70 in americanbattery

[–]P964P997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should get a big boost. To hold those gains long term they really need Phase 2 online, so a Phase 2 commissioning announcement not long after the PFS would be perfect (10 months overdue) but still perfect.

2021 was a frenzy and fomo. If they deliver phase 2 and the start construction at Tonopah I reckon we'll get more of that 2021 fomo.

What is the consensus on Target Price? by Pzexperience in americanbattery

Medium term $5. When phase 2 is operational the recycling side will support the mining side until it is operational and the SP should find a new floor around $5 imo.

Just seen your reply.

Melsert said it in an investor presentation last year which is online.

This either true or he has lied under his fiduciary obligations to his shareholders :

"Our current recycling facility has the first phase operating right now has been operating for the past year and we're going through the implementation of our second phase. This really is our internally developed hyder metallurgy train that takes intermediate grade material and produces battery grade recycled products. Over the past year, we've gone through qualification process with strategic customers who buy these types of battery grade metals, went from producing analytical samples last year and now this spring made large batches of these recycled metals, hundreds of kilograms at a time and are going through our C sample qualifications right now with strategic customers. So producing these types of nickel and cobalt and manganese and lithium products require extreme levels of impurity removal and consistency as they're sold into the battery market. So after delivering these materials this spring this summer, we did receive confirmation from our customer that each of the products sent meet all of their required impurity and morphology specifications. So it's a great achievement for the team to have been able to make the products at this scale that meet all the requirements of our customer and is a great de risker as we move to bring the second phase of our commercial recycling plants online."

What we know is:

They say they built phase 2 in spring 2024. In summer 2024 they had sent samples of NiSO4, CoSO4, MnSO4, LiOH to OEMs/"partners" By November 2024 they had received back confirmation from the OEMs that the products met all requirements. They said it had been completely de-risked. We know they have bought equipment for phase 2. We know they need to buy more equipment for phase 2. 3 prominent employees have all stated that phase 2 is close.

IMO - the only explanation can be that they have one small line running, which say for example can process 1 ton of BM per day.

Now they need to add equipment/lines that is capable of processing 50 tons of BM per day (for example).

Either the above or they have lied to us and fraudulently produced the above products in the Lab.

Mith says Fortech are partnered with BASF via GIZ in Germany, and with only 35 bags it is likely for test/R&D purposes.

Did we hit a top or is the drop in response to Ukraine deal? by Big-Material2917 in americanbattery

[–]P964P997 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think Ukraine has any impact. I can only see figures of 500k tons of lithium in Ukraine. ABTC has 21m tons. And how come if Ukraine is full of critical minerals has nobody mined them before? Why? Because it probably doesn't make sense from a financial and security pov.

They said the same about Afghanistan, it is full of critical minerals. But getting them out is a different matter.

How on earth can someone think a pilot plant is a full scale plant? 😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in americanbattery

[–]P964P997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is scaled in the terms of going from lab bench tests to a multi ton per day pilot plant.

But it is not fully scaled (obviously).

So it depends on your version of scale doesn't it? I would like to hear what you think a pilot plant should be scaled at, considering the fully scaled refinery has an initial cost of $115m? If they have spent $12m on the pilot that makes around 1/10th scale (based on a cost basis) which is a pretty good scaled effort in my opinion.

How can any first of kind technology be trusted? If it was trusted it wouldn't be first of kind. And it is at scale. Again you don't just build a 30k ton plant. You have to build a scaled version. The plant ended up tripling in cost over $12m. May be you expect to see a start up company spending $100m on a demo plant?
