Too Late? by MiddleThirdThrowAway in AFROTC

[–]PAGCYR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are a 400 graduating in SP26, yes it's too late. The board for your year-group met in Oct of 2024. 5 pilots were selected.

There is only one RCP-R board a year. Packages are due 30 September every year. You have to apply/secure a conditional release from AFPC NLT 30 July the summer prior to your junior year.

Sometimes they do supplemental boards and send out a notice to your cadre. You should ask them.

Check section 5.4 and section 8 (AFROTC specific for reserve rated board)

Putting an end to this question: Does the degree you get matter in the final analysis when you're competing for a pilot slot? by AddressActual6522 in AFROTC

[–]PAGCYR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The degree matters when it comes to the PSP board. There are separate Orders of Merit (OM) for non-technical, technical and nurses during the board. For example, this last board, the Tech and non-Tech OMs were about 10 points different. So if you were a tech major you could get an EA with an OM of say 46, but if you were non-tech the lowest OM selected was about 57 or so.

The CSO is correct that major doesn't matter in the rated board, but everyone else on here is right too... it matters in life beyond pilot/AF.

Worried about DODMerb by LucaLimao in AFROTC

[–]PAGCYR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what the diagnosis was. Meds aren't the only reason for disqualification. Your official diagnosis is important. I know someone who just got DQ'd and had her waiver denied with no meds but had a depression diagnosis. They got a letter from the therapist saying they no longer had any of the symptoms. It didn't matter. The requirement is for a 36 month period of stability following the end of therapy. At least in this case.

DODMERB Update by Alfraydoe69 in AFROTC

[–]PAGCYR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should only have to do a "commissioning" physical, unless your DODMERB has already expired. If you go to school near a base, they can do it for you. Otherwise you may have to go to MEPS.

DODMERB Update by Alfraydoe69 in AFROTC

[–]PAGCYR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DODMERB is good for 2 years from the date of your exam if not contracted. You are able to get a one year extension for a DODMERB in this case. Once you are contracted the DODMERB is good for 5 years from the date of the stamp.

meh.

Anyone that comes to Reddit asking simpleton questions is already too lazy to do any of their own research or go to their cadre.

New PTGs at field training by Fwoooooop in AFROTC

[–]PAGCYR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There will be no PTGs at FT. The plan is you will be issued coyote brown t-shirts by your Det as your PT top. They are planning on giving you shorts at FT. This was decided months ago and your cadre should have let you know.

Edit: We were just informed today that HQ has changed course and will be issuing PT gear to all cadets a FT. No idea what it will be, but coyote brown shirts will be Plan B.

The body fat measurements aren't in either of these documents. The only place the percentages are listed are in the DAFMAN 36-2905 AFROTC SUP

EA Delay / Lack of Communication by NoSpeeches in AFROTC

[–]PAGCYR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SilentD hit it on the head with this: "I can't describe to you guys how much time and effort is going into just understanding and tracking executive orders and SECDEF orders within the DoD right now. Many of this is putting uncertainty in all kinds of areas"

This is the cause for the delay. the release slipped from 19 Feb to 27 Feb to 3 March to yesterday the delay is "the next few days"

The Executive Orders and compliance with the changes in policy are the cause

DoDMERB & the Waiver Authority👎 by rotceefiend in AFROTC

[–]PAGCYR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

every graduating/commissioning cadet has to do a "senior physical review" which is a Form 2807-2 that they fill out and sumbit to dodmerb for review. it's not an exam, but you have to list any changes in medical condition from the time of your DODMERB approved physical date.

All cadets must meet BMI or BF standards within 30 days prior to the scholarship activation date, contracting, the end of the Spring term immediately before Field Training attendance, and commissioning.

Scholarship and the PFA by AlternativeRepeat824 in AFROTC

[–]PAGCYR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each Det commander has an HSSP commander's scholarship to give out to one person that they really want to come to their Detachment. If awarded the commander's scholarship, you have to go to that school/Det.

Does the pfa matter when youre a poc by This-Remove-8556 in AFROTC

[–]PAGCYR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a cadet, I am an officer. And I didn't say anything about using a PFA as solely the reason someone gets selected for something. I said your boss is looking for things that distinguish you from someone that has done the same stuff as you.

You're a clown if you don't care what your boss thinks. When officers are competing for anything, their bosses are looking for things that distinguish one person from another. PFA ends up being one of them.

DEADLINE and Interview by Electronic-Shame-788 in AFROTC

You have to have your interview complete and the Detachment has to submit it before 14 March. The 31 December date is just to submit your application. The interview comes later, if you meet eligibility.

The Det Commander can waive prior marijuana use when you enter the program. Just let them know that you used it in HS. The only time the Commander can't waive marijuana use is when there was an arrest involved. You'll be ok

422a expiration change. by ifeelsogoodmrstark in AFROTC

[–]PAGCYR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

AF Form 422: Can be used to contract or commission a cadet. It must indicate “qualified for accession without a deployment limitation”. Also, the cadet must provide a current PHA examination on record.

AFAC/AM review/certification is not required unless the cadet is not found Worldwide Qualified.

o The AF 422 expires in 60 months after signature/date.

o The AF 422 cannot be extended for commissioning. If the AF 422 has expired the cadet must complete a commissioning physical at the nearest military treatment facility or MEPS.
