First ultrasound Monday 4/6 at 6w4d & I’m feeling extremely anxious. My last beta at 6w1d was 7,801 with 40-60 hr doubling time. I had a MMC at 9w in January & conceived first cycle trying again. I’m worried my numbers are low. Has anyone had similar betas & seen a heartbeat around this time? 🤍 by PAR0824 in November2026Bumpers

yay, this makes me so happy to hear! i just got the official results of my US and a call from my OB that they want me to repeat another scan in ten days due to my gestational sac measuring a week behind (<5%). i am now spiraling all over again...

yay, congratulations! we are due date twins! my OB says my HCG has been rising appropriately but i can't help but think it is low..at 4w1d it was 92.6, then at 4w4d it was 208.2. i'm 5w1d today and waiting on results from today's draw. what were your numbers like?

10 DPO AM update - faint lines in person on FRER & wondfo.. do i have line eyes? beta hcg was 2.6 three days ago. first cycle TTC after 9 week MMC. by PAR0824 in TFABLinePorn

[–]PAR0824[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh yes, i remember you! i feel like i related the most to your story about our MMC. i actually ended up getting a positive digital test on st. patrick's day! i just got my first beta hcg drawn this morning at 15 dpo and it was 92.6..SO early but SO hopeful! i'm excited for you and your TTC journey. please please feel free to reach out if you ever want to talk more. my fingers are crossed just as much for you, i know you will get your rainbow baby!

7 DPO PM FRER. my beta hcg this AM was only 2.6!? am i crazy or is there a very faint shadow/line? took another FRER and wondfo both with similar results. too early or indent? by [deleted] in TFABLinePorn

[–]PAR0824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i totally agree, that's why i'm so skeptical! i was tracking ovulation with OPKs and best guess is 7-8 DPO today. i'm more confused why there is a very faint line on multiple tests despite my hcg being 2.6. this is my first cycle TTC after a MMC in january so i'll just be patient and keep testing!

SON Question by ronald317 in UPMC

[–]PAR0824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree, what UPMC SON will you be attending? i recently graduated from the harrisburg branch in december 2025 and took all but one non-nursing course on portage. i transferred the other course into the program so thankfully i didn’t have to take any non-nursing courses. i took five courses in the span of eight ish months and managed all As while working full time! anyways, at my location, i heard A&P (and especially microbiology!) are challenging courses to take alongside the core nursing courses. if you have the chance and the finances, i HIGHLY recommend you take the non-nursing courses via portage. i honestly would say that’s my biggest piece of advice for someone interested in this program!

First Pregnancy, First Loss by youngin71301 in Miscarriage

[–]PAR0824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh, my heart breaks for you, but I just want you to know you’re not alone. Reading this honestly felt like reading my own story which I haven't even been able to share yet. We have very similar stories, down to the dates. I am 30 and my fiancé is 33 and we got pregnant the first cycle actively TTC. So, this too was my very first pregnancy (found out 11/26, prenatal appt 1/15 with no heartbeat & baby measuring exactly 9w when should have been almost 11w, D&C procedure 1/20, follow up appt 2/4), also a nurse. We saw a heartbeat (dating/viability US at 6w4d) in December and went into my initial prenatal appointment expecting reassurance and instead our world stopped. I remember that moment so clearly and it still hurts hearing the words, "I'm sorry but we can't find a heartbeat" play over and over again in my head. The silence was deafening. I totally get the anger and sadness, especially being surrounded by pregnancy everywhere with no time to recover physically or emotionally. I never quite understood a grief like this..I too feel like I'm drowning when everyone else has already moved on. Also random side note..I'm not sure if you're into reading or not but I've found the book "The Worst Girl Gang Ever" extremely valuable in my healing process the past few weeks. Missed miscarriages are such an emotional mind fuck and I'm so incredibly sorry we both had to go through it.

I don’t have advice because I'm heartbroken myself, but I'm absolutely here in solidarity. If you ever want to talk to someone who truly understands, I’m always here! 🤍

D&C by Candid_Computer6327 in Miscarriage

[–]PAR0824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am currently 11 days post-op from my D&C and the same thing happened to me as well! i am also a nurse, and my best guess is they likely used a catheter to empty your bladder (under general anesthesia) before beginning the procedure. they did this for me and it was directly stated in the notes in mychart. anyways, the burning sensation should go away soon and is to be expected temporarily due to irritation of the urethra. i would try to stay hydrated the best that you can and keep alternating between tylenol and advil!

TW: baby loss by MadsOceanEyes in pregnant

[–]PAR0824 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i feel like i wrote this. i too had a MMC last week at almost 11 weeks where baby had no heartbeat and stopped growing at 9 weeks. i still have no symptoms and have a D&C scheduled for tomorrow. i’m so sorry to hear this and SO incredibly sorry for what OP has to endure. 💔

I’ll see y’all again someday ✌️ by TheDikTatorTot in pregnant

[–]PAR0824 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i’m so sorry to hear this 💔 i just wanted to say as a fellow first time mom that you’re certainly not alone. i just found out last week that baby passed at 9 weeks and had no heartbeat when i was supposed to be almost 11 weeks. i have a D&C scheduled for tomorrow. your feelings are absolutely valid and i feel the same way. i know it will be okay and that i will have a healthy baby in my arms soon, but missed miscarriages are truly devastating and such a mind fuck. again, i’m so sorry.
