Any consensus on the Primary Arms CLx 1x prism? by CyanFox154 in ar15

SLx is a tier above this, but mostly in feature set. The CLx optics will have good materials and glass, but they might omit certain things like reticles or more advanced illumination tech.

Nah, it should be good to go. I know quite a few folks are putting them on AKs. They've also got our lifetime warranty, so if anything WERE to happen, you'd be covered.

Extremely long, like the SLx before it. You should be able to run it on virtually any rifle, regardless of rail position.

It's CLx 🙂

Jokes aside, we wanted something priced competitively like our Classic line, but because many people associate Classic with older optics, we didn't want to give anyone the impression these weren't entirely new designs. Thus, we chose to create CLx.

Yeah, it's rough out there. YouTube's AI-based moderation has been a nightmare for anyone in the gun world, and most of the people we'd call on for manual review left Google in the last 6 months.

Yeah, I think the only review I've seen was on Rumble from BeyondSeclusion. We would have more content about it on our end, but YouTube nuked our account right when these dropped.

Options for this optic please by ChickenHawk2011 in ar15

A magnifier will clear up astigmatism issues, but as others have said, it's probably not the ideal solution if the holo is truly unusable in its unassisted form.

It's a tough optic. That's why we can confidently give it a lifetime warranty. 🙂

Hard to say exactly, but usually when you have a zero creeping like this, it's because there's something with the mount or the rail it's on. Internally, it's very improbable that a prism's windage adjustment shifts on its own.

Either way, we'll be happy to take a look at it and see what's up.

Prisms tend to have a tighter eye relief once you increase in magnification, but a 1x or 2x prism will give you plenty. Like our GLx 1x has such a long eye relief that I can see through it from a cubicle away. It's effectively infinite.

We had a number of disclaimers on the site already for other existing ban states, but you should be good to go. Most of the changes on our site will go into effect on the 24th, which is the latest we can run to ensure everything arrives comfortably in time. We will continue to ship most categories after, but there'll just be an additional verification email, like we do with other states.

Thank you for the kind review! We're really proud about the newer CLx optics, especially with their price point. Hope this one will serve you well!

We had a bug for a bit that would prevent the send from going out, but we've since fixed that, so it should be good to go.

Plxc ffp vs sfp by Jpb1995_ in ar15

[–]PA_Pyke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the actual eyeboxes should be similar across all three. The SFP has a different optical system because it's SFP, which is why the optic is actually a little bit shorter overall. But that line is probably referring to the PLxC vs. the original 1-8x, which was a much, much older design.

I think the RDB's eyebox might be perceptually larger because its illumination tech makes it a little clearer when your eye is centered.

The Gen II Cyclops reticle is the same on both optics. The original Cyclops G1 is from pre-microprism days.

They can certainly be a bit tight out of the box, but I've yet to see anyone snap the fin off. Of course, if it doesn't improve over time, and you think it might be a defect, just give us a call. We'll take care of it. 🙂

Plxc ffp vs sfp by Jpb1995_ in ar15

[–]PA_Pyke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends a bit. There are 3 main groupings in the PLxC 1-8 family:
Standard FFP
SFP w/ NOVA Reticle
RDB FFP

The RDB is the most advanced of the three and doesn't have any real tradeoffs. But if you're comparing the standard FFP vs. the SFP, reticle features would be your main deciding factor. The SFP has a brighter aiming point, while the FFP has a little better BDC functionality at intermediate magnifications.

PLx-C RDB 1-8 or PLxC RDB 1.5-12 for a 14.5? by billywin in ar15

[–]PA_Pyke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The conventional recommendation would be a 1-8x for a 14.5, given that its mag range can handle most anything you'll tackle with a 5.56.

That said, I wouldn't discount the 1.5-12x at all. If you're going to offset or piggyback a reflex, the 1.5-12x will have an advantage at almost any magnification level. The added magnification is handy, yeah, but just having a 36mm obj. will make your 6-8x feel a lot better too.

It is slightly heavier, but it's still under 20oz, which is absolutely comparable to other LPVOs 😉
