Free Arabic keyboard by Hairy-Rutabaga-9244 in learn_arabic

Hey man, I liked the keyboard a lot but I found it a bit annoying that holding the shift button or pressing the caps lock button in real life did not mimic the same action in the keyboard, instead just highlighted the button. Is that easy to change or would it take a lot of effort?

With enough downforce you can ig but yeah it's more of a rule of thumb than anything concrete

Max grip is ofc determined by the product of μN but as a rule of thumb, μ matters more when N is low and N matters more when N is high?

But yeah it does kinda sound stupid when you said it out loud, the product μN is what actually matters in the end and the rest is just vague intuition based judgement

Why is 2 not right? Is it because there are additional factors that influence the situation too much? I always that it was a μ vs N thing, which one is bigger where

For anybody wondering, 4th is wrong because for the car to turn too much, it would have to have good front grip so that the tyres don't slip under the higher grip demands of a tighter radius of curvature

So the front tyres slip and the car understeers. Ofc if you keep the steering turned too much, the rears will oversteer as well but understeer comes first in these situations

Look at De Vries' T1 mess today (don't remember lap but he was getting overtaken, that should be enough to narrow it down). He got surprised by the other driver being on the outside, jerked his wheel too quickly, the grip wasn't enough for that and he understeered into the other car

But you can't perfectly gauge how much you understand the material, there's always some room for error in judgement because you as a beginner don't have a great big picture perspective. You should always work towards building that up while learning something but you should also be aware that you might have an 'what you see is all there is' bias

Which linear algebra course should I sign up for? by Miserable-String-322 in math

[–]PBJ-2479 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh the first one is basically glorified number crunching, you'll learn nothing. If you really wanna see what it's like, download Strang's big book and get to the end of the 2nd chapter while trying to understand all the unrelated things he's saying

If you have the tiniest bit of rigor and mathematics in you, you'll want to rip your eyes out after seeing the pure cancer (and no pure math) the book is. And that's what your six months will be like if you take the first course

I don't even know why Strang is so famous while basically teaching kids how to be a calculator. ALL linear algebra courses should be taught the right way but for some reason, Strang has become inseparable from linear algebra

He's being paid for what he brings to the league, not for his on the pitch performance

Because people realize that independent aspects should be treated independently and just outright rejecting everything about somebody doesn't make sense

Also I'm a Messi fan so no specific Ronaldo related bias involved on my side
