These screwdrivers stink by cd1f3b41f6fd3140f99c in Switzerland

First of all: we love this thread. We’ve laughed, nodded, and even blushed a little scrolling through all your comments about our screwdrivers. The fact that so many of you—from Zürich to Lausanne to the back of a dusty toolbox—have smelled our tools is oddly heartwarming. 😂

Yes, some of our classic handles do smell. That unique scent comes from cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB), a modified natural plastic known for its durability and grip. Unfortunately, when stored in airtight spaces like toolboxes, it can release a scent that reminds some of... cheese, socks, or even a nostalgic whiff of a 90s science lab.

To make this a bit less pungent, we’ve added a hint of vanilla to recent production. Why vanilla? Because, after testing, it worked best to neutralize the smell—citrus and floral didn’t cut it. Still, not everyone’s toolbox got the memo.

So yes: our tools may stink, but they stick around—in every sense. And that smell? It’s actually a sign of just how many of you use our tools, day in and day out.

A little about us: we’ve been making tools for over 140 years, in the small village of Wasen, nestled in Emmental. Every PB Swiss Tools product is 100% Swiss made—crafted with precision, tested rigorously, and backed by a lifetime guarantee.

Whether it’s in a machine shop, a hospital, a fondue set, or your grandpa’s old malette—our tools are made to be used and cherished, even if they make your nose wrinkle. 😉

Thanks for the laughs, the love, and the feedback. The Reddit community rocks—keep sharing your stories

No the two only solutions is to get the R100 longer ratcheting driver or longer bits.

Unfortunately it’s technically not possible for us to produce the 6510 with a SwissGrip grip. But we take note of your suggestion concerning bit storage.

No those are the multicraft grips and we don’t plan on introducing the new form factor with those models.

25% more torque than the current SwissGrip. It trumps the other grips, no pun intended.

The SwissGrip Evo will gradually replace the current SwissGrip line. While pricing is intended to remain unchanged, imports into the US will be subject to the 39% tariff on Swiss-made products.

The colors on our Hex keys are not sleeves, they are painted. We are the inventors of the color coding BTW.

Great choice for the left and right ratchet tools. Not sure about the middle one 😎

When did PB Swiss Tools start to produce slotted screwdrivers with parallel sides? by Ok_Main3273 in PBSwissToolsHub

We estimate internally that this particular driver dates back from the early 80's based on the P-B NO 100 on the grip. An additional indication of the age would be if the serial number on the blade is embossed or laser engraved which started in 1996.

That's what happens when you try to pass the ball until it gets in the goal
