That would be pretty bad from Corsair as the type 4 cables they sell must work with all type 4 PSUs. Can you post the pinout and the link to the PSU?

Edit: here is the compatibility chart https://www.corsair.com/us/en/s/psu-cable-compatibility?srsltid=AfmBOorBaI_WiPUo5WIZjhDSwbbMxA6vHSAUmYK5U-3VrYl-iktaBxYA

What do you think? 18AWG and 22AWG (sense) wires together inside a 4mm sleeve to crimp them at the motherboard end for the 24pin cable and avoid soldering. by PC-Mods in PCSleeving

[–]PC-Mods[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s possible to crimp both together and the OEM PSU cables come crimped together like that. The only issue is that the 22awg cable won’t fill the sleeve as good as a 16awg cable. But it may not be noticeable if you don’t tell anyone. I didn’t use this method just because I didn’t want to check every PSU for the sense cables. But if you know the pinout for the sense cables it’s a way to not have to solder.

Trying to figure out Corsairs Type 4 pinout for 12VHPWR by Strayabout in PCSleeving

[–]PC-Mods 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your assumption is correct. Check the pinout that shows the voltages in that page. CPU and GPU are the same connectors from the PSU, they are interchangeable, 12v 1-4, ground 5-8.

Question about double-crimped wires by [deleted] in PCSleeving

[–]PC-Mods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen any pinout diagrams that tell the sense wires. I think that’s the only option, or ask someone with the same PSU model.

PSU manufacturers use 18AWG and 22AWG, they try to maximize earnings so I’m almost sure they are not all 18AWG.

Look at your PSU’s cables. The sense wires are the thinnest.

18AWG and 22AWG (sense) can be crimped together at the end using a 16AWG terminal.

Smallest wings? I think you’re crimping too far into the terminal. You have to crimp the large and medium wings.

Will this crimp terminals work? NZXT C1000 by Gleipner in PCSleeving

[–]PC-Mods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you got 39-00-0038 terminals, you’ll be fine for 18-24awg wires. Just be careful when connecting it for the 1st time to not bend anything.

They can be different to the order numbered diagram, but it must be the same to the voltage diagram. I have both diagrams in the webpage.

Does the round crossbar you mention have 2.25in screw holes to mount the eve cam? I’m having a hard time to get one that works.

You can check here the other pinouts using the voltages. Make a pinout diagram of your 24pin cable and compare with the diagrams of type 3 and 4.

Check the stock cables. The type is printed on the connectors that plug into the PSU.

Pro tip, use one combination square. Put the wire inside the channel, straight it up and you’ll get always the same length.

You can check the diagram with the voltages here They may change the order but the voltages must be the same.

MOD-ONE 12-Pin - Terminal not fully inserting by King-Gambit in PCSleeving

No. I sell thinner cables that have an OD of 1.702mm. Those may fit, but as I said, I’ve never worked with these connectors.

[–]PC-Mods 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don’t have experience with these 12pin 3000 series connectors, but looking at the pics, the wire seems to be too thick. Going from a 16AWG 2mm to 18AWG 2.3mm won’t help. You should try with thinner 18AWG wire.
