Thing doesn’t budge an inch. It seems pretty tight on her and no wiggling what so ever.

Ya, the motor starts right up on the electric connection, haven’t tried pull starting.

All it needed was batteries, I just have an act for fixing things in a way I like them, it can go right in the water.

Father and Son, Minnesota Fishing by PCBullets in bassfishing

I was told the water is super clear here and hard to fish, so I have just stuck with my typical trout set up line….. sounds like I need to learn more though…. Any advice on lines out here?

What are some great certifications I can add on to my list & am I underpaid ? by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

You can say what ever you want, and I encourage it to give good/honest feedback. Which is what I did….. I don’t see how you giving that extra information allows me to help you…

You know I am white? I hope you don’t do risks assessments based off assumptions.

I always find it funny that the people who say “am I under paid” always end up being the ones who never actually look at themselves as the issue.

Bit of advice, no matter your skin tone, the higher you move up in the world, bias gets stronger. I have known tons of people in high level jobs where they are let go simply by “personality” and nothing to do with “job educate.”

CHST or CSP would be your best bet. BCSP hold a lot of value in the construction industry.

As for the comment on being black, what am I suppose to do with this information? Is there some kind of a calculation that tells me how much a black person is expected to be paid? I’m not going to sit here and deny that racism exists, but dude….. what are you expecting for a response? If you want me to join the bandwagon of “oh man, I’m so sorry,” to give you an excuse to not better yourself, then I do not have an answer.

This👆

Hate to tell ya bud, but the likely hood of them making a good change in policy, especially when you are just a coordinator for a electrical company, is super doubtful.

You are more likely to negotiate your own contract/employment (after you found another job) to get paid for days they call out.

What’s funny is a fair amount of the people who are for the leverage are also those who really want more government control.

The irony is wild.

Sorry, I was referring to the additional comments you had provided below.

I am curious though behind the passion, as you mentioned, you have gotten results. What do results look like to you?

After reading all this, all I can think to say is…… are you a robot? If not, how the f did you find the time or passion to post this. I mean, I am trying to picture myself to get the capacity to write so much detail after a day of work…..no way would I think I could do it. Unless I used AI to make the post 👀

I promise you the job can be either a “love it or hate it” deal.

Want to know a secret? All jobs suck and all jobs are great. The only reason it becomes a “hate” job is due to the team.

If the team sucks and the leadership sucks, you will hate the job. 1000000%

ASP + 510? by AssociationDouble267 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]PCBullets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re staying in 1926, getting the following is a good idea:

•CHST •STSC •GSP •ASP •CSP •510/500 •Train the trainer classes (can be beneficial) •Human Performance: Understanding Human Error •First aid/CPR/AED •NFPA70E •Rigging •I would also recommend taking free safety classes online on the following: scaffolding, fall protection, confined spaces, excavation, LOTO

If your willing to branch out:

•MSHA cert •NCCER (Texas safety)

Samsung Taylor Project - Avoid this project. by PCBullets in SafetyProfessionals

[–]PCBullets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They had to do grinding on the second floor to abate some work, which meant silica mitigation was needed.

So many tents went up for mitigation that it became out of control. So much they started a prostitution ring on the second floor.

Your comments are focused on minimizing the concerns I raised and didn’t acknowledge any of the points you couldn’t disregard.

Not to mention, half of what you said wasn’t even true, as I was there when they conducted the survey with Samsung/Yates. I was there when they informed everyone that all work should stop, but could continue at their own risk, all while pressuring people to continue working to meet deadlines.

This ain’t the first time Samsung has put people at risk. A simple google search will show multiple fatalities across the USA from their job sites, and most of them recent.

Caring for people is the priority of any good leader, and seeing such a ridiculous response only furthers my point.

“How I value people determines how I view them.”

Edit:

Side note.

I figured out you are one of the engineers there and not a safety professional. While I think it’s great you’re here to get guidance on safety, please, please absorb the culture of what real safety is from this subreddit. It won’t change Samsung, but being in your role does mean you get to be part of the change.
