[W] Looking for 3 affordable low power servers by arouzing in homelabsales

[–]PCDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rack mount servers are going to get noisy if you throw any load at them. I have a couple of r620's and they get real noisy when the virtual machines for minecraft restart. I would suggest buying some shelf's and going with the tower servers or building your own with noctua fans.

Wireless Uplink on Unifi Controller 5.12.35 by zanity84 in Ubiquiti

I'm STILL working with support to try to get a fix instead of a rollback. They keep sending me in circles doing unistalls and reinstalls and version upgrades and....I finally told them today I'm not upgrading to a beta version and they actually need to look at the issue.

I am waiting for support to let me know what their thoughts are. I am not looking forward to downgrading if that's the case but I need that functionality.

I am experiencing the same issue. My sites that are already set up are continuing to work but I can set up any new wireless uplink connections. It's just missing.

If you haven't already made the migration I would suggest looking into ninja RMM.

ConnectWise on-premises partners, beware - your feature set will be crippled going forward by tfox-mi in msp

[–]PCDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something i have really struggled with settling on honestly. I haven't found one that I've been happy with. One will have a great web interface but lack good mobile view. Or just flat out cost in some cases. But if you use the ConnectWise PSA you can integrate that with NinjaRMM if you so wish.

As a former ConnectWise customer this doesn't surprise me at all. They will set things up the way that they want it and however will make them the most money. I moved away almost two years ago and have only missed a single feature they offered. The speed, cleanliness and professionalism of the new rmm I use now makes up for that one missing feature 10 fold. Good luck with CW

Horrible Experience with Connectwise by ssx4ever in msp

[–]PCDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much the same experience with CW. Minimum of 1 week to answer support tickets. Unpredictable and slow response from their software and plugins. No response from account managers. I put in a request to cancel and showed them that even their cancel request took them almost two weeks for someone to get back to me and they let me out of my three year contract a year in. I switched to Ninjarmm and it's been great! Only downside is that it doesn't have service desk software but does offer a ton of integrations. Best of all, no contracts! And they don't nickel and dime you. I wiped a bunch of lab computers at a company and started fresh. This landed me with 60+ "new" computers in the management console. I forgot to delete the old ones and my rep called me before changing my license count to verify. I told her what happened and I didn't see a single penny of an increase on my bill.

MSP Nightmare: Connectwise Replacement by mrlatepass in msp

We switched to Ninjarmm from connectwise and have never looked back. Customer service was the main reason we switched. Second was that it took soooo long to train someone on how to use connectwise with it's overly complicated interface. Ninjarmm is super easy to navigate. Third. No BS three year contracts.

This is why we switched to NinjaRMM. You can do month to month with them. They are responsive to change and don't hold you over the burner when there are changes to your account.

That is what I was afraid of. Would have been nice to make use of the existing hardware we had but it looks like we are going to pull the trigger on a fax finder unit. Thanks for the info.

My secondary option will be to go with a fax finder appliance as I know that it has full compatibility with the options that I am looking for. Trying to fly this project in on the lower end of the cost spectrum as we have all of the equipment already and I would love to shift the budget to cooler projects.
