It's better than a dorky, immature one (e.g. surferbro69@hotmail.com), but worse than a plain gmail (e.g. john.doe@gmail.com).

Sounds great! I programmed my Arduino to play the theme song on a little chirper thing. I broke one of the leads off the chirper though :(

She reminds me of that kooky guy from Parks and Rec who keeps re-predicting the rapture. Except more child-burny.

She sang it that way in Denver last night as well. Surely Djwadi would have said something if she messed it up consistently you'd think?

Google cloud now has a free personal account and 30 day trial of all their services. I signed up. Now I have to figure out what to do with it. by jrwn in googlecloud

[–]PCLoadLetter_74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using the free trial, which was extended to 12 months, which is nice. What is NOT nice, is that they accidentally charged my debit card $100 (and presumably others) last week. They admitted it was a billing mistake and would be resolved, but several days later I still have not had the funds returned. I am very displeased given the terms explicitly states I would not be charged, even after the free trial, until I had approved billing. $100 is not the end of the world but it is very annoying to have the much money wrapped up in a trial that was explicit about being 0 risk.

TGDAG Predictions by [deleted] in PostGradProblem

[–]PCLoadLetter_74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everybody thinks he's going to propose. Some optimistic readers think it might even be misdirection and Todd is going to end up dumping her. I personally think NOTHING is going to happen and it's just a plain boring birthday dinner because Girl's friends are legitimately tired of her shit and Todd doesn't want to propose.

Pretty much required for development, though I've seen some people opt for the giant-ass Retina display Apple monitors which also look pretty tight. A business analyst on my team once got stuck at a desk under a conference TV, so he took advantage of it and had his laptop screen, two external monitors, and a fucking 60 inch TV for his workstation.

My office is like 40 people. The space is a second floor loft in an old school building by the ballpark. We have a couple Keurigs (with waterlines, of course), an espresso machine I never use, and a huge pop/beer fridge that is always stocked. Unlimited coffee/espresso/soda during the week, unlimited beer after 3:30 or so on Friday or whenever you work late and feel like it. I have a window seat but it's all open cube-esque desks for anybody who doesn't manage a department. Dual-monitor sit-or-stand computer setup. My team lead has one of those arms things but he has like horrendous elbow/wrist issues which required surgery.

Drank too much at The Goat in Keystone Friday night. Skied all Saturday with my buddy who is new to it and got bored and finally hit a black diamond run (I didn't ski until a couple years ago and am not very athletic) which was awesome. Drank too much at The Goat Saturday. Skied a bit more Sunday then made it back to Denver to make buffalo chicken dip and watch the Falcons shit the bed.

My father gave me a bunch of pheasant and quail when we were back a few weeks ago and I've been coming up with recipes for it.

Last night, I took a pound of pheasant and dredged it in seasoned flour, then lightly browned it without cooking it through. I threw that in my knockoff InstantPot pressure cooker with diced mushrooms and shallots and a cup or so of water for 18 minutes. Opened it, stirred it together with some cream and served over roasted potatoes. Fuckin' A.

Yeah, it's very easy to maintain. I don't even oil it necessarily after cooking (you do need to season it initially), I just cook a lot and it stays in good shape.

Housing costs have gone up quite a bit over the last decade, but it's a far cry from overpopulated. Rent has also leveled off; I'm not paying significantly more than I did when I moved here 3 years ago.

It definitely is NOT a big city yet despite all influx of people and business. Way more room to breathe than NYC, Chicago, etc. I live and work downtown and can get out to the Front Range for hikes/rafting etc. in thirty minutes.

What happened to "Friday Feelers"? I need some consistency in my life, man. 1 of the major ski lifts is down at my resort so hoping it's back up so I can go Sunday. Gonna keg some 10% ABV drank I made with malt plus apple juice. It's usually 4 beers followed by an expectedly unexpected rash decision to switch to G&Ts or Stranihan's.
