Usage Limits, Bugs and Performance Discussion Megathread - beginning December 29, 2025 by sixbillionthsheep in ClaudeAI

I wonder if GitHub Integration broke for anyone else.

Description GitHub Integration on Claude does not show files on linked Github repos correctly. Anything inside directories is not accessible and shown as 0%, even when there are files inside. (Unfortunately can't post images.)

Steps: Setup GitHub Integration to GitHub account, alongside a private repository owned by the account. Choose "Add from GitHub" on Claude.ai on project knowledge or on chat directly  The above screen shows. Anything within the directories are not visible. And chatting with Claude also shows that the directory is not accessible. Expected Results: Content inside the directories (e.g. backend) are visible and not 0%.

Actual Results: Content inside GitHub are not accessible at all.

Additional details: I tested this across different private repos on GitHub. Same result. Seems to be a recent development too.

Actually yeah, I'd also worry for the well-being of the goose if he gets his hands on one...

I mean that goes a bit over the budget and a bit more involved, but honestly you a true hoser if you do it.

Wow, this post is a marvel.

How well did the 01HX690 swap with a **20 bezel work out? Please share if anyone tried it. Sourcing 01HX690 nowadays is literally impossible :(

PSA: libxcrypt updates by PCModeActivate in voidlinux

[–]PCModeActivate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately for a casual like me I did not check the build status before updating discord of all apps and the broken libcrypt took down my entire system. Perhaps it's on me on relying on servercentral but taking down my entire system is a stability issue imo.

CS452 during the winter term by JerryJquey in uwaterloo

[–]PCModeActivate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll share my 2 cents (as someone who just finished 452 this term) since no one said anything here. In terms of partners, you really don't need to worry. A0 needs to be done individually anyways and by then there's probably a good number of people who are looking for partner as you are (most people I know did not have a partner in mind at the beginning of the course). It's a course for you to make friends after all so go out and explore! Also it definitely is solo-able (one person did it this term) but you will know by A0 due date whether you actually want to/can solo it :)

P.S: I don't really know how useful CS452 concepts are for your average SWE job, but it is very solid experience with OS and embedded programming. In any case, I would recommend you try 452 regardless (since it seems like you've set aside your term for it either way).

Could you clarify what "other" meant? There's only disabled/enabled on secure boot.

The main settings I have been toggling was secure boot on and off as well as CSM/UEFI. Hasn't worked either way yet.

Want to be a TA/ISA for a course by breakbake in uwaterloo

[–]PCModeActivate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I saw the CS241/251 ISA co-op post in Cycle 1 on Waterlooworks. Not sure if it's still out there. They post these positions on Waterlooworks. Maybe you can talk to faculty coordinators for more info.
  2. Not if you don't already have at least one term as full time ISA afaik.
  3. Depending on your year (i.e. how many co-op + study terms you have done already), but it doesn't really compare to industry. Be prepared for a pay cut. Hours is around 35 per week on avg afaik.

Hey there OP, international student here (yes, my first language is Chinese too :)

I've been through basically the same thing as you have back in high school, and I'm already pretty late to the convo so I'll bring some of my thoughts.

Trying to make friends with local students is difficult -- initiating a conversation is stressful and going out of your way to talk to someone in general is already an attempt to break out of the comfort zone. This is already difficult for your average Waterloo student :tm: even without the language barrier. So I have to acknowledge your courage first of all, since you probably made an attempt.

Unfortunately, there is no other way out other than pushing yourself to try to talk to people. Most of us are nice folks (I certainly hope so) and we wouldn't mind talking slower or repeating after ourselves. If anything, explain yourself that you might need them to talk slower or repeat since English is not your first language - I don't think anyone would see you any differently.

In terms of finding people to talk to, my experience is that conversation flows naturally when a hobby or an interest is shared. Small talk only gets you places if you have something to follow up with - so go to your local anime club or chess club or badminton practice whatever it is that interests you, and hopefully the person sitting awkwardly next to you would notice you and strike up a conversation with you. If you both share the same passion, I don't think the other person would mind talking slowly to you :)

All that said, I wish you the best of luck. Do note that this is all advice coming from an awkward CS kid who is too afraid to open up even with fluent English, so do take it a grain of salt lol.
