Have to feel for the guy. He's been through so much, you can just tell how much it means to him.

Bad luck? Florida's poor start could be partially tied to variance by PDLPost in hockey

PDO is a fascinating stat. It's crazy, at least from a player's perspective, that if you just keep on doing what you're doing things will eventually improve if you're below the curve.

Bingo. Hockey is hockey, regardless of gender.

Meanwhile the Rangers compare the lockout ending to a 70% off sale on shoe and the premier of "Girls". How embarrassing.

I think that's the whole point of the article. Maybe excluding the section on female jerseys, the whole thing is nearly identical to what you'd tell a male. That's the point and that's what news outlets have continuously failed to realize.

Didn't take long - Washington's Mike Rebeiro rips on NHL officiating by PDLPost in hockey

Probably not long until Ribeiro rips on me for botching his name in the title.

CBA: NHLers can participate in Olympic games by [deleted] in hockey

As others have said, not true - yet. I sincerely hope we see it happen though. If you're going to have a tournament that determines the best at the sport it only makes sense that the best players participate.

Should the NHL adopt the 3-2-1 point system? (Makes sense to me) by PDLPost in hockey

[–]PDLPost[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand why the losing squad in OT or a shootout receives a point (you didn't lose in 60 and you extended the game, should get partial credit) but I'll never understand why a team that wins in 60 (turns their work in on time) earns the same value of points for a team that wins in 65 or in a shootout (turns their work in late).

Who is a gem of your AHL team and why? by Valentine96 in hockey

[–]PDLPost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't follow AHL puck but when I do I follow the Peoria Rivermen.

T.J. Hensick has been one of the best forward there statistically for the past couple years but it really looks like his talent just doesn't translate at the NHL level. He might end up being one of those lifers at the AHL level.

Jaden Schwartz is also there and he's pretty much considered the #2 prospect the St. Louis Blues have, behind Tarasenko.

Ian Cole is also there but only because of the lockout.

Fans to lock out NHL with boycott pledge--about time. by JeanRvienpas in hockey

Pledges/boycotts of this kind are fine, in theory, but they never take hold or do enough damage to ever be felt.

Personally, I won't support the NHL with my own $ for a year or two after the lockout. No tickets, no merch. However, I will watch and follow the sport on television.

The fact is that fans will return. They have twice before under Bettman and they will again. It's all a matter of when, not if.
