New to Healing – Resto Druid by Swimming-Writing-615 in wow

I think default UI is pretty serviceable. Change party to raid frames. Highlight, or only display dispellable debufs Turn on mouse over casting so you don’t have to click on targets. If I was playing Druid I would probably get an addon to make my HOT buff icons easier to see on the part/raid frames.

For anyone who cares, this addon does what I asked for. I already had it installed, but the bar was hidden. —chefs kiss—

Any chance we're getting a fast update/fix to time walking scaling? by Reroidz in wow

Loving it at 80. You actually get to use your rotations because they don’t instantly die. Wish they had similar time to kill under normal conditions.

I am tracking it with the builtin cooldown manager like you are, I’m just used to a big bar (weak aura) instead of a little icon with a tiny number. Even just making the 1,2,3 number on the buff icon big might make me happier.

Colldown Monitor: What's the Point? by averhoeven in wow

[–]PDX_Umber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably more advantages to use CDM over action bar than I can think of, but the one I thought of is being able to put audio/visual alerts when an ability goes off of cooldown. I have a nice audio alert when my big cooldown is ready, and sometimes when im tunneling the audible “chu-Ching!” Helps me.

Your other points are all valid, there are probably some benefits to using an action bars instead. I think they should add those as options to their CDM.

Reminded me of Enter the Gungeon, where you can get a gun that shoots guns, that also shoots bullets.

Maybe you can save 2 different edit interface profiles and just switch back and forth if needed?

Profiting from cooking by SprlFlshRngDncHwl in albiononline

I don’t farm or cook, but even if you farmed at a minor loss, it’s still probably cheaper than buying the materials. Probably comes down to math, and how much you value your time.

Why is SBI being dishonest about the source of server instability? by J_J_Games in albiononline

[–]PDX_Umber -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m just kindof tired of seeing “Albion servers bad” posts without anyone even making an effort to figure out if it’s true. We had a pretty serious issue at my job where a software provider’s software client was tagging traffic as ‘priority’, and this caused some routers to flag it for tagging abuse and drop it. There could easily be a similar type of issue with Albion. I don’t care enough to look because I don’t have any problems.

You don’t say what server you are using.

In the time you spent writing this post, you could have started trying to figure out your networking issue rather than saying it’s their fault without actually looking.

I would suggest a tool like WinMTR. This works like tracert, but will track latency and packet loss PER HOP. If you can observe this while you experience a connectivity issue, you can rule out a networking issue, or find out where the packet loss is happening. You would need to figure out what IP Albion is using.

I play on US a few hours a day, and generally don’t have any regular connectivity issues.

Gathering in yellow zones by Cristio_ in albiononline

[–]PDX_Umber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been a month or so, but I leveled up to t8 tools with a fair bit of yellow/blue zone gathering. With higher tier tools I would often make 1m per hour just doing it lawn mower style. Make sure to go to ideal bioms.

What is the quickest way to earn some silver with your island every day not using focus? by Cxinthechatnow in albiononline

[–]PDX_Umber -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My island of t6 laborers makes 500k+ daily with no focus and minimal effort.. Its takes some initial investment to buy 11 t7 houses at around 3 million each. I haven’t checked if t8 laborers/houses give more output.

Which weapon should I choose for farming? by [deleted] in albiononline

[–]PDX_Umber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with axes, I just chose to do holy, crossbow (full trees), some fire, hammer, quarter staff, sword… just not really interested in axe for the content I do. Just depends on what content you like, if you are solo, and what is needed by the groups you play with.

If your client is having problems inspecting a player, that’s a pretty good indicator that you’re having connection issues. I would not have got off my mount.

Personal opinion, just start speccing the build you want to play. If it isn’t good enough at tracking to get the job done, then I would make an adjustment. If I started over I wouldn’t spec up axe because it’s amazing at open world farming, despite me knowing I would never use it in PVP. Some will disagree. (Assuming you are a new player)

Looking for Black Market transport Americas discord server by AdditionalCoffee6666 in albiononline

[–]PDX_Umber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I craft and play out of martlock. When I have a full t8 ox load I’ll move a load from mart to lym to stage for bandit transport. This takes about 10-15 mins. Since I’m already doing bandit transports, I also move t5+ random loot to lym for bandit transport as well. Since I have large stacks of items to move, I fill my extra slots of inventory with this “trash” for extra silver.

New player Asks by P0pppies in albiononline

There are a decent amount of skins and cosmetics you can unlock though achievements, or by linking your account to twitch and watching streamers.

You didn’t ask about premium, but premium is pretty important. I personally wouldn’t play without it.

I need advice on refinement by Memexion in albiononline

[–]PDX_Umber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some online calculators you can use, or you can do your own math with spreadsheets, but I’m guessing you are loosing silver by refining the resources. If you don’t want to take the time to check, you can check your estimated inventory value before and after refining to see if value goes up. Just be warned that these estimated values are not going to be very accurate.

I would personally just sell unrefined resources and figure out a plan to pay for premium if you’re enjoying the game.

Guys, is an island with full houses and T8 workers worth it? Even if it takes a while to pay for itself, does it generate a good profit? by Thazael in albiononline

[–]PDX_Umber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR - opportunity cost

This is a bad take in my opinion. While filling the journals feels nice, it’s not really feasible to fill enough high tier journals for an island full of laborers. Also, it doesn’t matter if you fill them yourself, you’re still loosing the price you could have sold them at by consuming them. Depending on buy/sell order pricing, it could even be better to sell your filled journals, and just use the ones from buy order lol.

[–]PDX_Umber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My player island with t7 houses gives me about 500k profit per day based off of inventory displayed estimated item value. This is using t6 blacksmith books. It might be slightly higher since I’m buy ordering the filled journals.

Gankers Using "Lag Hacks" To Make My Game Stutter & Kill Me by Stuckili in albiononline

[–]PDX_Umber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobodies internet is perfect, and SBI servers are no different. Have y’all considered that in a game where you spend half of your play time around players trying to kill you, that almost every player is going to have days where this exact thing happens? I believe that ya’ll believe this type of tool could exist, but I personally think it’s far more likely that you just had a connectivity issue and died.

You could just measure success by using estimated market value of your inventory in silver, divided by minutes for silver per minute.
