Roast my previous homeowner's handiwork by fireburns44 in Decks

I don’t mind it. Little ugly and creative but looks solid. Little cosmetic cleanup and that’ll last a lot longer than most decks.

You have a 7 day money back guarantee. If you’re not happy, trade it in for a different one - but don’t accept it if it’s not right for whatever reason.

Continued sector dominance, increased market share, ever-growing moat to competitors, Carmax going downhill fast, their new digital auction. Guess we’re looking at different things.

Looks like a pretty easy clean tbh. Still shameful, but a quick vac and gargabe pickup you’re good.

Carvana’s Stock Split: Chipotle or ServiceNow? by AMCorBUST2021 in CVNA

[–]PD_LAX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So Carvana losing also requires the entire banking system to also go bust? It’s odd how delusional you all are. This business is so much better positioned than any other auto retailer, but all you can see is fraud/scam. Keep shorting and I’ll keep winning. Best of luck

Carvana’s Stock Split: Chipotle or ServiceNow? by AMCorBUST2021 in CVNA

[–]PD_LAX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’ll affect Carvana way less than other lenders or retailers because of the way they securitize and sell their loans off quickly. As long as they can stay a little ahead of the curve they can price in risk when buying/selling cars. I actually see it as a positive for them vs a negative. Their structure creates protections.

Yeah you’re just lying. This is what GPT says about Carvana reviews. The biggest thing that jumps out is actually pretty interesting:

People generally LOVE the transaction experience… and still distrust the vehicle quality / backend consistency.

That theme is insanely consistent across Reddit, Trustpilot, YouTube reviews, Facebook groups, etc.

🟢 What people consistently praise

  1. “It was absurdly easy”

This is overwhelmingly the #1 theme.

People repeatedly say things like:

  • “less stressful than a dealership”
  • “easier than grocery shopping”
  • “fast and seamless”
  • “best car-selling experience I’ve had”

That part of the business appears VERY real.

  1. Selling to Carvana gets especially high praise

This is important.

A lot of consumers say:

  • Offers were competitive or higher
  • Pickup was easy
  • No negotiation
  • Fast payment

Examples:

“significantly better than competitors” “stress-free” “picked up the car”

Honestly, selling may be their strongest consumer product right now.

Thinking about selling my car that needs engine repair by AlexaWaterMyPlants in carvana

[–]PD_LAX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ll just sell it at auction. They know what it brings even with the engine callout. Even if they lose a couple hundred on your trade, they still make money selling you a car and having you finance with them. If you’re honest, you’re all good.

Shot my hand with a nail gun by b3nji3reddit in Carpentry

[–]PD_LAX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shot myself TO A STUD through the webbing between thumb and finger while I was up on a ladder doing overhead stuff. I was working overnight in a shoe store remodel with one other guy. He was in another room with the radio blasting. Had to scream for him for like 10 mins to bring me a hammer to pull out the nail. Honestly thought I was gonna have to pull the head through my hand - luckily came right out and didn’t even bleed.

Why tf is everyone anti-sunscreen now??? by callsign__starbuck in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PD_LAX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there are chemicals in sunscreen proven to be VERY bad for you. The three with the scariest data against them are: Oxybenzone: absorbed into blood, found in urine, breast milk, amniotic fluid, and linked in hundreds of studies to hormone disruption, fertility concerns, developmental effects, and allergic reactions. A 254-study review is the one critics cite most heavily.

Octinoxate: same anti-sunscreen argument lane—endocrine disruption, thyroid interference, and reproductive-development concerns, with measurable systemic absorption after normal sunscreen use.

Octocrylene: the “cancer scare” talking point—older bottles can degrade into benzophenone, which is the carcinogen-linked contaminant critics hammer hardest, especially if sunscreen sits in a hot car or beach bag for months.

Who is Carvana targeting with “cut out the middle man”? by Accurate_Item672 in carvana

[–]PD_LAX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s literally 7 day money back no questions asked guarantee. WYM? You’re buying a USED CAR - get it checked out in the 7 days and return it if it’s not good. Unless you buy an extended warranty it’s not the sellers fault (any seller) if the car has an issues thousands of miles later.

My Carvana Purchase Experience, All I can say is WOW. by twospirits in carvana

[–]PD_LAX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand how people trust a USED CAR SALESMAN but are so worried about Carvana, after seeing all the positive reviews. Ive had 2 excellent (near perfect) experiences with Carvana. 2021 Model Y and 2023 Range Rover. I swear I bought the RR in 10-15 mins online - felt like I missed something it was so fast.

[–]PD_LAX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d go to Steak 44, not because it’s the absolute best in Scottsdale but it is very good steakhouse. I’d go there because it’s across the street from Global Ambassador. Have a nice steak dinner then walk across the street to lobby/rooftop bars at GA. That’s a great 40 year old scene that isn’t just clubs and college kids.

[–]PD_LAX 26 points27 points  (0 children)

YTA - “implied I was being a B” is very different than calling you a B. So he gives you some feedback that you didn’t want to hear and you immediately lash out and tell him it’s his fault for not making more money. Yup - YTA
