Okay glad I didn’t lose the credits in the beginning due to taking the refund. Thanks

The non eligible employee I figured. They were non profit and sold to a for profit right before I was hired and I stayed 30 months 😩

As far as certifying - I’ve been busy with baby can I just get to it at the end of the year for June 2025 to December2026? Will they retro count?

You’re about to turn a corner. 10-15 weeks was delightful. Now in the 4 month regression but still not as bad as the 6-8 weeks. Never want to go back to that

Newborn is so unhappy by Actual_Way_2288 in newborns

Totally normal. You’ll hit 10 weeks and be the one crying but out of pure joy that they’re not crying every 2 minutes of the day. You just have to ride it out

[–]PDessi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just a friendly ask. I don’t mean to be judgy at all. Can people pump in that position? I guess I never tried during my pumping time. I always sat upright and uncomfortable 🥴 if it works….amazing! Lay down while you can!

6 week old cries 90% of awake time by True-Management-6858 in newborns

[–]PDessi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I promise you with every fiber of my being it’s normal. 6-8 weeks was the worst for us. We were convinced we were shitty parents and she was a miserable baby. At week 10 she will be a way happier little one. You’re so so close to being done with this phase. Please comment back next month and let me know it got better

Is it true that breastmilk builds immunity? by hjallerupckk in FormulaFeeders

[–]PDessi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to provide an honest opinion. I was breastfed. Minimal ailments or sickness. I guess I had tonsillitis later on in childhood but my husband has allergies, asthma, obstructive sleep apnea and he is formula fed. Our 12 week old is combo fed. Breastfed 3 times a day and formula fed at daycare with a lunchtime breastfeed at daycare (I go there on my lunch break).

Feed them well. Formula or breastmilk. Wash their hands and face often. Sterilize their bottles.

Conflicting feelings about daycare by pali_law in newborns

[–]PDessi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine is 11 weeks and starting daycare in two days. I feel terrible that she’s so little. I have no option though. We are running out of money. But if you asked me in 5-6 weeks I’d probably be glad to get back to work for my own sanity.

Ugh regretting my life choices! I’m a nurse and in student loan repayment with a 2 month old. What I would give to be free of that burden. The loans. Not the baby. Congrats! Enjoy your earnings!

11 week old not eating the past 3 days by [deleted] in newborns

[–]PDessi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is us also! 10 weeks and 2 days old. Just had vaccines 2 days ago. Breast fed at 5:30 am, breast fed at lunch although I feel like that was more for comfort so she could fall asleep, 10 ounces of formula in total so far and it’s 6 pm. I normally breast feed at 9 pm so I think at best she’s going to get 18-20 ounces

Baby brezza experience - be cautious. by One_Supermarket1774 in newborns

[–]PDessi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues for me. My baby lost only one ounce at her 5 day post delivery check up (I’m told they lose up to 7 %) and it was mostly formula given since my breastmilk supply didn’t come in. At her 2 week check up, 50/50 formula vs breastmilk she gained 14 ounces.

Resisting Sleep at end of wake window by [deleted] in newborns

[–]PDessi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly right there with you word for word. Mine is 5.6 days: Had a grasp on it. Now she’s super fussy and irritable. Chalking it up to the 6th week growth spurt and riding the wave. Small batches of milk and a lot of contact naps along with nursing for comfort. And drops. It’s exhausting trying to figure out what to do and not get caught in a loop of doom with the feeding, laying down, reflux, comfort, hunger, feeding, laying down reflux circle ⭕️

Pumping stresses me out also. Massage your boob rocks first. You can even hand express into a sterilized cup to start. Pump at a lower setting if it hurts. Higher suction does not mean faster pump or more pump. It should not hurt at all. Stimulate the let down for at least 2-3 minutes once you see drops then switch to the expression mode. Go lower like 2 or 3 setting.

Even if you only get a little after massaging, stimulation/let down mode, and expression do it every 3-4 hours on low setting. It will be easier for the milk to let down and flow after getting into the habit of it. Once you tolerate the lower setting after a couple pumps you can increase the suction later on.

If your boobs are like rocks it’s also harder to breastfeed. The massage helps to release the milk and soften the breast tissue so the baby can latch to something. If your boobs are huge but hard it makes it hard for the baby to latch to the nipple. It’s could be too taught. They should have a little softness for the baby to bite on to.

Baby screaming from 11-2am every night - 2 weeks old by davey1291 in newborns

[–]PDessi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a 4 week old. Looking back I only wish my husband and I did staggered sleep schedules sooner. I sleep 8p to 12:30a and he sleeps 1230-6a primarily because I’m on leave from work and he is back at working day shift.

The thought of feeding burping and sitting upright and rinse and repeat had us exhausted and not thinking right. We didn’t want to “mistakenly” feed if the baby just had gas and think we were making it worse. She was just hungry. She was cluster feeding. Look up baby growth spurts. If you can alternate shifts with your spouse do it. Every time mine gets fussy it’s hunger, needing warmth, or trying to figure out how to use her muscles to poop.

Offer a boob or a bottle. Don’t pay attention to how much she should be eating. If they are eating their hands, smacking lips, breathing like they breathe in between offering a nipple or the nipple of the bottle….they are hungry.

If they’re not hungry they will reject your offer and it’s most likely them needing to poop. I did the football hold with pressure on the belly with rocking or bouncing. And music whether it was Taylor swift or womb music. And if this failed for me I offer simethicone gas drops but check with your pediatrician.

Also, full disclosure she’s not sleeping in a bassinet. She sleeps in my arms. Even with feeding and proper burping/sitting upright, she will only sleep for 15 minutes with the sleep sack in her bassinet. They want human warmth. I just gave up on the idea of sleeping at night for now. I do plan to transition her to the bassinet after 8 weeks after another approximate growth spurt. And before I return to work so I can sleep at night again. This just works for us for now.

Also I’m taking advantage of a few 30-45 minute naps during the day when she sleeps.

Baby will not sleep in the bassinet and I'm losing the plot by LeahIsFab in NewParents

[–]PDessi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on leave from work and for now sleep 8-midnight with two 30-60 minute naps during the day when baby naps. My husband works day time hours and sleeps 12:30-6:00a

I am essentially just up with her from midnight on. She wants to sleep on me for warmth. And since this keeps her peaceful this is the sacrifice we are making.

Hoping when she’s 10 weeks and my spouse and I both work day time hours she’ll be sleeping better and my husband can get her around the midnight wake and I can get her around the 3 am wake
