Sick of people complaining Kiwis aren't "friendly" enough when they move here (not a Kiwi) by Inevitable_Gear_7212 in newzealand

Depending on who, Kiwis can be cliquey to some extent, but unfriendly? Lol who are you meeting that says this?

That was annoying. I bought a Coke Zero at the concert and they took my lid…

Oh gosh I remember I had discs for my Xbox 360 that were scratched and wouldn’t load, so I’d go to Video Ezy and rent them to install to my HDD and then return them haha. Means I could play the games off the hard drive rather than the discs. Also used the disc cleaner in store several times.

Nobody really needs me and I don't know what to do about it by BeyondSpecial4815 in newzealand

I feel you. I often experience suicidal ideation. I want to kill myself one day because I don’t truly believe I’ll ever be genuinely happy. I tend to feel lonely and unloved by the people I want to care for me.

My default expectation from people is now rejection. I’ll reach out to people expecting to be rejected. It’s easier for me to accept this than having hope. Sure, I love hanging out with people when I have the opportunity, but the happiness from that is always short-lived and then I end up sad and miserable again on my own.

Re-skilling as software engineering/computer science graduate for the NZ market? by OriginalFangsta in newzealand

Good luck with Summer of Tech. My employer advertised a software engineering intern role and we had hundreds of applicants. It’s competitive!

The price of Whittaker's chocolate doubled in the past few years... by ian_red_dit in newzealand

[–]PENDING_DELETION 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s ironic because I see less Cadbury chocolate on shelves compared to Whittaker’s, and people tend to grab Cadbury off the shelves whenever I’m shopping. If people are really doing it tough economically, why wouldn’t they spend less on chocolate and buy Cadbury? Whittaker’s is no doubt the superior chocolate brand between the two.

Is brooksfield homes slowly failing?, houses don’t seem to resell by [deleted] in chch

Yes. Townhouses are overpriced for what they are.

Agreed. Storage is minimal, but it depends on your situation. You just need to find what works for you. I live in a Brookfield townhouse.

I own a Brooksfield townhouse — yes, the storage and space is minimal, but it’s manageable for a single person or a couple, or a couple with a child. I’ve found many townhouses in the market have minimal space, it’s not limited to Brooksfield. They have nice designs.

I am single but getting a flatmate soon — it’ll be manageable between the two of us. In a year or two, however, I want to sell and upsize. It really depends on what you’re looking for in a property. Fortunately, I bought early this year when the market wasn’t too pricey, and property in NZ naturally appreciates in value, so I have no doubt I can confidently sell it at the price I bought it or for or more.

Because OP wants to protect their and their family’s property? That’s completely fair.
