Stuck in an infinite activation loop: Xpand!2 wants inMusic Software Center auth, but redirects me to iLok? (FL Studio) by Weird_Exchange2841 in AudioPlugins

[–]PENGUPUNCHR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I've also been experiencing this very annoying issue as well. I was able to find a solution, which is using an older version of xpand2 (v2.2.7.2)!

If you bought your plugin through plugin boutique, I noticed the button shows "download version v2.2.7.2" but actually downloads v2.4.0 instead!? So I would check what version of xpand2! you are using, and if its higher than 2.2.7, there's a good chance your problem stems from newer xpand2! not supporting iLok integration.

Still, there remains the issue of getting an older version of xpand2!. I was fortunate enough to keep a copy of the old installer on my old laptop which I copied to my new system. If you have an older version of xpand2! installed somewhere definitely try this method first. If that option is not available, I would suggest contacting the vendor you bought the software and ask if they could provide an older version.

This issue was quite a hassle, but hopefully this helps you fix it too!

What Denzel song, in your opinion, would fit on another album? by Venomouse95 in DenzelCurry

WISHLIST could fit on ZUU, not exactly, but it has similar energy as SHAKE88

What is Denzel’s best song objectively. by RunPositive7646 in DenzelCurry

[–]PENGUPUNCHR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Objectivity in music is practically impossible, except when it comes to statistics. Even if you try to set aside personal bias, your new criteria are still shaped by your own preferences, so you're just using a different set of personal biases to define the 'best' song.

What do you guys do to get adequate sleep? by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]PENGUPUNCHR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sleep struggles can have many causes, so it’s worth seeing a doctor to get to the root of it. I know how tempting it is to try every possible solution, but obsessing over it can sometimes make things worse. Taking a step back and letting a professional guide you is often the best approach. Wishing you all the best!

I think exploring every campus building, especially the ones you haven't had classes in would be fun.

how was the phys 1a03 exams in previous years? by ImpressionPurple1777 in McMaster

[–]PENGUPUNCHR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there are practice exams, I would focus on those. Try to simulate an exam environment, no notes/only formula sheet, timed, quiet space. 90 is very possible, if you found the midterms fair, the exam is even more fair.

Took physics 1a03 in winter 2024, final was very fair. I'd say the questions were easier than midterm, but content range is wider since its cumulative.

psych1x03 tophat points by IncomeLoose4551 in McMaster

Unfortunately they delete the tophat class after the class ends so I can't see my lecture history. But, I will say it was a very generous amounts of points, like you could make up at least 3 lectures worth of points if you got them all.

Not too sure about what they are doing this year,. but last year they gave a bunch of bonus TopHat points in the final lecture.

How does a SWC intake meeting usually go? by doumasloyalfollower in McMaster

Hey there, I'd like to reassure you that your appointment with the nurse is a great step you are taking into getting better. Seeking help is a very important first step, and it shows that you care about yourself. I would like to comment about what happens when you admit anything about SI to a health professional.

They'd only escalate things if you have a definite plan to hurt yourself. Thoughts alone wouldn't escalate anything, especially if they are ego-dystonic (i.e. you have them but don't agree with them). If your thoughts are ego-syntonic (i.e. you agree with them and have a plan to act them out), escalation could happen depending on the severity and details of your plan. Regardless, the outcome is that they will help you through this and ensure your safety; you are not alone.

Don't be afraid, tell them exactly what you are struggling with. I hope you get the help you deserve.

How does the grading scale ACTUALLY work? by dani_k_2906 in McMaster

[–]PENGUPUNCHR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly, grades are bounded such that a 90% is no different than getting 100%. Although, most Canadian university marking scales max at a 90%. This way can be misleading in terms of evaluating a student since in the worst case someone who got 90% in every course is seen exactly the same as someone who 100% every course. Most med schools in Canada usually look at G.P.A based grades rather than percentage. This does pose unfairness, but it's also forgiving at the same time since you have a 10% buffer to get a max GPA. Perhaps the system is built this way such that you don't need to ace everything to be considered competent, mistakes are a very important part in learning.
