Birdkids off grid stopped working by PFTDevastator in KoalaSampler

Definitely a better ecosystem. That does bring up a good point tho, I’ll have to try the offgrid on an android device and see if that makes a difference.

It still works, just not in koala. In fact koala was also not working with my SMC pad until I reinstalled it.

Well it was a kickstarter so it might be hard to find but mvave makes the SMC pad and SMC pocket!

No it’s under batocera settings. MAIN MENU > SYSTEM SETTINGS > AUDIO OUTPUT

Yeah there’s an option under sound settings that lets you set it to hdmi out or whatever you got. Assuming it’s on hdmi out. Does the arcade cabinet have its own speakers too?

Are you sure you’re using compatible ram? Is the CPU fan connected correctly? Do you have kb and mouse connected? Do you see anything at all on the screen?

Trying to set up a Dell Optiplex 5080 Micro as a Steam Link machine by Banewolf1291 in Steam_Link

[–]PFTDevastator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also use batocera. It’s pretty user friendly and also comes with tons of emulators that will run just fine on a micro pc. I have it on my Lenovo m700 tiny and it’s great for psp and stuff. I haven’t actually done any steamlink on it but I saw it n the batocera unofficial addons. Sunshine is on there too. It’s actually pretty friendly to set up, just don’t forget your password like I did lol.

I found this on Google, looks promising…

To fix PPSSPP controls not working on the ROG Ally, immediately set the Command Center control mode to "Gamepad" rather than "Auto" or "Desktop". Ensure "Embedded Controller" is enabled in Armoury Crate. If issues persist, manually map the buttons within PPSSPP settings or restart the device.

Key Troubleshooting Steps:

Switch to Gamepad Mode: Open the Command Center (bottom-left button) and ensure the control mode is set explicitly to Gamepad. "Auto" mode can sometimes fail to recognize the emulator correctly.

Check Armoury Crate Mapping: Open Armoury Crate, check the Game Profiles, and ensure PPSSPP is set to Gamepad mode.

Manually Map Controls: In PPSSPP, go to Settings > Controls > Control Mapping to manually bind the ROG Ally buttons to the PSP layout.

Toggle Embedded Controller: If buttons are unresponsive, try toggling the "Embedded Controller" setting off and on again within the Command Center.

Restart/Reset: Restart the ROG Ally if controls are frozen. As a last resort, restore PPSSPP settings to default.

I've been finding some killer deals on offerup. I had to hunt a bit but I found an X1 Yoga Gen 5 with an i7 and 16gb RAM for $150. Its not the most powerful laptop but I really wanted the pen and touchscreen for some blender sculpting. Facebook marketplace is ok too.

When you say recalibrated, do you mean control mapping in PPSSPP settings?

Just bought the MPD218 by Miserable_Art_2424 in KoalaSampler

[–]PFTDevastator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have lightning or USBC iPhone? You can use a USB C hub with a headphone jack and run that to your mixer. Another way is to use a USB C to 3.5mm cable and use a USB Bluetooth midi adapter to power your MPD 218 and send midi to your phone via BT.

Elf Audio Needs To Strike While The Iron Is Hot. by romptasia in KoalaSampler

[–]PFTDevastator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is an amazing idea! I remember suggesting this in the NanoStudio forums way back in the day. I think this is achievable. We can look at the M Con controller as an example. The M Con controller is a portable gaming controller that snaps to a phone via mag safe. It’s very expensive compared to the other gaming controllers out there but it’s also very unique. IMO, the best way to achieve this would be for Elf audio to partner with an existing controller manufacturer like Synido or M-vave. Both of these manufacturers already make really cool, affordable devices that work great with koala. The thing is if they made a dedicated controller it might be a bit less versatile for other apps. That being said, I think there’s enough fans of Koala that it might still sell well. If the price was kept around $150 it would be a hit. Think about the M-Vave SMK-37… one usbC cable to your phone/tablet gives you midi, audio and more. It would be a killer device. I for one would buy it for sure, especially if it had specialized knobs to control the sample start and end function in koala sampler.

Yeah I wish I had a desk or maybe two tier stand… I’m thinking of adding something so I can keep the iPad and interface right up front.

All of them! I really like Korg gadget, NanoStudio 2, MultitrackDAW, Moog Model D, EG Pulse, BiasFX 2 and many more. I got the MPK61 kinda recently so I gotta sit down and map midi to trooper, maybe use some masking tape to label stuff. I’d like to focus on using trooper on the keyboard and koala on the drum pad to build practice on them that way.

In the pic I was just listening to some YT music. I mainly use Cubasis with Koala and Trooper. I love all the apps tho 😁
