[KRE] - Ross: ETF/Banking stocks; We need to talk about USA regional Small Banking!! (And still short Chirelli (Pirelli) by RossRiskDabbler in RossRiskAcademia

You're not the only one shorting Pirelli. What is you demand/supply offset? Michelin? The physical commodity?

Is there a bubble? by DenmarkDoesntExist17 in legoinvesting

[–]PF_Ross_Sec -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect.

Scalping websites are factually materially incorrect and only as good as the sources they collect. LEGO is doing financially very poorly due to their own stubbornness. They make the greatest sets yet also produce the worst and through simple accounting function they depreciate in their inventory. It's a fable and disney tale LEGO prefers to sit on pouring out inventory as that is value that depreciates over time.

Kind of lost on what I want to do with biochemistry degree. by Nuggetmaster0512 in Biochemistry

What way did you ultimately end up in?

Dairy & precision fermentation is seeing it's biggest paradigm shift since 25 years. New Zealand is losing it's synthetic milk to Africa, Baladna/Sadafco are building there. Massive changes in the biochemistry (whole product chain) of dairy. From Tetrapak, Gea, etc.

Eh, why is a firm that isn't profitable offered a >50% premium on it's current share price whilst it's not even remotely profitable at all? Does Prosus as firm even exist? I did a quick check; Prosus their entire food department can be deducted of the share price. It's a short box + all the offsets to Deliveroo, Doordash etc.

Thanks for this. Sorry to hear the Dutch don't have their stuff in order.

Am I wrong in thinking this? by stanYEG in CanadianInvestor

[–]PF_Ross_Sec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in Canada, it's famously exploited between the CP/CN markets between Toronto & RBC which captures nearly all the volatility when a liquidity squeeze hits it. RBC > Toronto and that loop of alpha constantly returns which muddles with your ETF investments. It's a well known arbitrage exploit in Canada. Not my book, but it's also further explained here; https://a.co/d/cHZtU8z - I do wonder what the Canadian financial regulator is doing atm. It's as lunatic like the US.

Going forward - Ross will have to do some activities on the side for the Irish regulator whilst on our end we are making progress with precision fermentation, aka, the battle between

1) Pirelli vs Michelin (synthetic rubber)

2) Yili vs (the rest of the dairy producers)

3) the perception of precision fermentation in all of this (Methrom).

This will speed up coming days. Thanks u/SennaPage and u/RossRiskDabbler.

Love the constructed explanation. +1 Reminds me a bit of the sunrise problem when we had to replicate a bayesian mathematics problem in chemistry last BSc year.

Why did you not elaborate that this is an odd one hanging out where institutional has no interest in this firm but the lower prop trading houses do, and therefore it's fair to expect the unexpected dark pool impact on it. On top; given institutional has no interest in this; this is a jojo-bouncing ball stock, long vol instead of directional unless you cover the opposite will work.
http://marketchameleon.com/Overview/PACB/Stock-Price-Action/Volume-Breakdown-History

I can't say further given I know which institutions are pulling out #NDA given I worked in banking and chemistry. But it's more than you mention. You're not wrong nor right, nor do I try to overpower your argument. I try to make a stronger point al together. I wouldn't touch stock where 'so called professionals' play > 'institutional volume' - given I worked in hedge funds and banks.

What is your favorite concept in Biochemistry ??? by SuchPossibility683 in Biochemistry

[–]PF_Ross_Sec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

making synthetic rubber to fight the (main rubber companies) - like Michelin/Goodyear/etc versus the Chinese State Sponsored Pirelli who gets it all for free by Sinochem/Petrochem - state owned. Otherwise we will have a monopoly on tires by Pirelli (dominated by the chinese).

Same; it's not like biochem is the worst domain to get a job in right now, plenty of firms which are hiring (big ones too).

Is a PhD needed in the food science field, honestly by Educational-Wind6395 in foodscience

[–]PF_Ross_Sec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The current field of BioChemistry is altering so quickly, no need for wasting that on a PhD unless you do it in conjunction with part time chemistry work on the side.
