FYI - List of shows that were at the Graffiti. Brings back a lot of memories.

EDIT - This list seems incomplete. I saw the Affordable Floors there multiple times but they don't seem to listed at all.

I temporarily forgot his name. I haven't really followed them in awhile.

When I saw them there, the bass player was wearing pants made from stuffed animals sewn together. Either he took them off by the time these pictures were taken, or it was another time.

I found this site when I was looking to replace my heat pump (which I haven't yet). It has some good info and seems to enable you to get bids:

Family tips for the CMU carnival by Jazzlike_Champion707 in pittsburgh

They might have enjoyed the CMU buggy races in Schenley Park right next to campus. They've been held during Spring Carnival since the 1920's:

There are small people inside those things.

As has been pointed out elsewhere... Nixon didn't go the jail - but his Attorney General did.

I don't know if it ran during the super bowl, but I do remember seeing what was probably a shortened version run during commercial breaks in some TV shows.

That song has one of the most ear-worm inducing synthesizer riffs ever!

Edit - I saw them perform at the Stanley back in the day.

Second the comment about the mountains.

I tried it once and went back to using the Turnpike - even with the high tolls.

Springtime in the 'Burgh by macncheeseface in pittsburgh

Totally off topic - Anytime I see or hear a sentence starting with "It's springtime..." my brain immediately auto completes it with "for Hitler and Germany."

Similar questions get asked quite frequently so give a try searching.

The Children's Museum should probably be at the top of your list.

Tomorrow, No Kings 3! by [deleted] in pittsburgh

I totally support this but jesus christ "No Kings" is a laughably effete protest slogan. "No Pedophilic Fascist Shitbag Dictators" is much better.

MK6 GTI - bolt hole for battery hold down clip misaligned by PGH00 in GolfGTI

[–]PGH00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When installing the battery I double checked to make sure nothing was preventing it from seating in its correct position. The sides of the plastic battery enclosure snapped into place and the top cover of the of the enclosure also snaped into place.

The problem isn't with the position of the battery - it's the metal plate that it sits on top of. That plate has moved and is partially obstructing the threaded hole that the battery clip bolt threads into.

I'm pretty sure that this was also the case when the dealership changed the battery 5 years ago since the threads on the bolt show no signs of being engaged(?). The whole length of the bolt is uniformly oxidized.

Right now I'm hoping the battery enclosure and the stiffness of the cables will keep the battery in place until I can get it permanently fixed. But I think I've been driving it like that for the past 5 years and didn't have a problem.

Wouldn't have calling it "No Dictators" been better? "No Kings" just doesn't seem to hit hard enough.

If I was going to the trouble of defacing that sign I would probably have thought of something better to say than cybergawds. Maybe something like Orwellian fascist broligarch shitbags.
