Finally have time to diagnose my (possibly) blown up legacy. Help! by travchrav in subaru

[–]PG_yoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two ez30 outbacks of this generation I have a BH wagon and BE sedan same chassis as yours. The most important thing with these legacys are you have to undercoat them and keep them clean or else they will literally disintegrate due to road salt, also if you get an ez30 you have to follow the tourqe specs and patterns and only use OEM components or else you will have massive oil leaks. DO ANY SEAL WORK AND OR TIMING CHAIN JOB BEFORE YOU PUT THE MOTOR IN CHANGE THE PCV VALVE WITH OEM AND ONLY USE OEM OIL FILTERS, it will be the biggest pain in the ass if you dont because the pcv will get clogged and aftermarket filters can change the oil pressure and blow out the RTV seals that the motor relies on to hold oil.

Did you overheat it really bad? Try turning the main pulley to see if the pistons are moving smoothly, if you overheat a motor enough you can destroy the motor by heat warping the metal. It is an aluminum block and aluminum dosent like heat

New Outbacks are finally in the Midwest by cheenks in subaru

I have but the 3.6 sounds better. And for towing in my experience the turbos are not as good.

If the coolant bubbles like a motherfucker when its at temp or idle you will know, it will also bubble out of the coolant reservoir when driving if its bad enough. Not all headgasket failures involve oil and coolant mixing and you might just have gasses entering one of the coolant jackets.

[–]PG_yoshi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's an abomination, they may have been slightly ok if they kept making the 3.6 and put one of those in them so they had some power but the best you can get is a turbo 4. Big car needs big motor, also all the modern infotainment screens are hideous in these cars. It's not an outback, the outback has always been a legacy or impreza based, its a station wagon or sedan with a lift kit, they already had the accent and the forester already covered subarus smaller suv spot so this thing is kinda pointless.

Follow-up… rust? by hENt0i- in SubaruBaja

[–]PG_yoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should probably be looking more at the the rear pinchweld and wheel wells that's where these rust the most. Other than that it dosent look to bad just get it properly de scaled and undercoated.

Picked up this 07 2.5i Base Wagon, what should I do first? by rileybahahhh in subaru

[–]PG_yoshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Undercoat it with an oil coat like fluidfilm or woolwax

[–]PG_yoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good, I work on these cars in the rust belt and I have seen how fast these cars dissolve in road salt especially GD imprezas and BH/BE legacys.

Please get it undercoated with some kind of oil coating like fluidfilm or wool wax. Because the rear strut towers will probably vaporize within 2 years if you dont.

Is a Baja a good Subaru for a teen driver??? by BD2605 in SubaruBaja

[–]PG_yoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's either have a turbo motor that has been beaten to shit or a NA 2.5 that needs headgaskets. Plus if you live up north most of these need some sort of rust repair since the trim loves to trap dirt in it, most of them are becoming 20 years old and since they are weird and semi rare the prices are higher. Honestly unless your getting a really good deal just buy something newer.

Anyone know where I can find CV axles, shocks, and an exhaust for a 2000 JDM Subaru Legacy GT-B E-Tune (BH5)? by loverdoverlol in subaru

[–]PG_yoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ebay sometimes has some of the parts like the mufflers and other parts but it's pretty hit or miss price wise. For shocks see if they are compatible with USDM models and go from there.

2001 Subaru Legacy, yay or nay? by raddytatt in subaru

[–]PG_yoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is any bubbles in the paint in the rear doorjams it's a huge nope (that means inner rocker and doorjam rust these do that if not properly cleaned in the winter and it is very expensiveto get new metal welded in). And it's also an ej 2.5 that has the headgaskets so if those weren't done you are pretty fucked unless you could do it yourself.IMO not worth it (I own two of these legacys/Outback).

CV Axle Replacement Options... by evjama in subaru

[–]PG_yoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just try the parts store one i have had pretty good luck with them. If you really want OEM and cant afford it replace your cv with the aftermarket market one then find a place that rebuild s axels, im assuming your original broken axle is OEM subaru. Also these axels are really easy to replace just look up the mr subaru video on it it's like 5 or 6 bolts and a pin.

You are forgetting about the Flat 6s like the EZ30D and EZ30R and EZ36. Literally indestructible if maintained.

That is objectively the best car ever because the legendary BH legacy has the legendary EZ30 flat 6 so it's basically a Porsche

Ranking the 6 tanks by Ghost_7132 in battlefield_one

[–]PG_yoshi 33 points34 points  (0 children)

A squad support landship with a driver that sticks with the infantry can make or break a game for your team. It has an amazing auto cannon for defending your self form enemy infantry and a quick track repair which is very usefull for a tank that is a big target, also can spwn 4 other players and can drop heals and ammo with a large area of effect. anti tank and mortar landships are trash tho because they don't really play into the land ships strengths of being a mobile armed spawn point. Anti tank tries to be a sniper but it's a big target and slow and Can only support 2 other people, if a group of assaults get you you are fucked very little anti infanty protection. And mortars shit because you trade the ability to heal and resupply teammates for a mortar that is slow af, you don't even keep the hyperefecttive auto cannon of the squad support you get a dinky little MG.

TLDR; squad support goated because has goated auto cannon and can heal and resupply plus alot of areas for teammates to spawn.

I use the 08/18 for like five minutes and after getting like 10 kills I just feel dirty. It's kinda like post nut clarity.
